Sparrow, but not Jack
Taken in Madrid, in one of the hottest days this summer, the fountain this statue belongs to was full of sparrows bathing and some pigeons as well.

Re: Sparrow, but not Jack
Juan - if this is a picture of the bird, why does it have such a small space in the frame?
Too much material in the image that has nothing to do with your subject and far too little subject for this to work well.

Re: Sparrow, but not Jack
Thank you, i see what you mean, still struggling with composition rules, in this case I was trying negative space but now I see why it doesn't apply here, thanks

Thanks, there´s something i guess i need to overcome, and that´s the fear of cropping too much.

The highly acclaimed photojournalist and war photographer, Robert Capa, said "If your image isn't good enough, you're not close enough".
Wise words in this case...

Re: Sparrow, but not Jack
I think, Juan, this is one of those cases where there are several crop possibilities; including retaining the statue head with something like a 4 x 5 ratio crop. That would place the bird as part of a slightly larger scene instead of concentrating solely on the bird. But you would need to loose that out of focus item in the lower right corner and tone down the background a little.

A portrait mode with full head of the statue can be a story teller..
