I like the image but find that your subject is still too hot and perhaps a touch over saturated. I'm not loving the tree on the edge of the frame. It stands out too much and draws my attention away from your subject.

I'd likely take it in this direction if it were my image:

    Youngster

Nice effort on the exposure, pose, and capture of the atmosphere, I think the diagonal line of the building is a bit strong as it seems to cut through the youngster's head, moving him a bit closer to you would've framed him within the background and still showed the sky as an added element.

Nice shot. a good pose, and you seemed to have nailed color balance in this one. I agree with John about the diagonal going through the boy's head. It's distracting, particularly because what is above the concrete is so different from the brick below.

    The ideas are great.

The two weak elements I first saw were the line through his head and the tree, (both already mentioned).

The strong elements are: the use of Shallow DoF; the targeted lighting; the juxtaposition of the Red Brick and the Green Top and the choice of Horizontal Pattern to match; the use of Geometry to draw in the Viewer’s Eye and to focus it; the Low Camera Viewpoint to accent the trance of the Subject; the use of Negative Space to balance the Solidity of the bricks; the use of the vertical (bricks) as the Supporting Palette to ground the Subject.

Picking nits – the camera Viewpoint is a tad too low – rarely do we ever level at exactly hip height for either gender: either waist or nearer the ground level is usually better and each has a different effect.
