    A Quiet Day

Taken in April this year but with a new look at the PP. I cropped out a lot of extraneous material to focus on what attracted me to the scene originally: a view of the trees and reflections with a little activity to add interest.

    Nicely done Joe.

If I might make a couple of suggestions you could consider:

    1. The sky is very bright to the point of being distracting. If you use a luminosity mask, you can reveal some of the texture in the sky and calm the whole scene down a bit.

    2. The scene is effectively back-lit. If you use the shadows slider in Lightroom or ACR (or a similar tool found in many other parametric editors), you can open up the whole scene a bit more and bring out and open up some of the textures in the trees..

Thanks Manfred. I will be trying both of these suggestions later today.

Finally I have tried the adjustments you recommended.
First I raised the shadows in Lightroom. Next I opened in Photoshop and added an adjustment layer for brightness/Contrast and made adjustments using a mask. Finally I added an adjustment layer for Vibrancy and with a mask made some more adjustments.

    A Quiet Day

I think I may have overdone it with the vibrancy however.
