    Snow Leopard

This image was taken at The Melbourne Zoo. The look of the snow leopard was what I wanted and therefore it is a 100% blow up. C&C most welcome.

Nice effort, by blown up do you mean also heavily cropped?

That is right, John. A 100% crop. My mistake.

I know it is difficult to photograph animals like these at a zoo. You have done a good job of getting focus where it needs to be.

In my opinion I think it is slightly over sharpened. That may be as a result of the aggressive crop? I would be inclined to add a little bit of blur.

Really cool cat and image. Agree with Peter. Also, I may have chosen not to crop the animals left ear and included it all.

Ole - I agree with the other comments regarding the over sharpening and the crop. I also find the image is too "hot" and both the background and the leopard itself seem overexposed. Bring that down a bit and I think you will have a stronger image.

Like others, I found the image to be somewhat 'overcooked'. Halos on the whiskers, true, but more disturbing to this pixel-peeper are the cross-hatch artifacts on the nose:

    Snow Leopard

Tried to tone it down but I went a bit over the top, as usual. But, going back to 100% zoom, some might prefer the smoothed version and some might bemoan the sudden disappearance of 'detail' ....

    Snow Leopard

Perhaps somewhere betwixt the two? No disrespect intended.

This is an image I have a lot of trouble with. Second attempt.

Far better image this time but, I wouldn't call him/her cuddly. Not exactly what I would want to cuddle with on the couch watching TV
