Just finished (re)processing this one. My wife wants it on the wall ... but I'm having real problems printing it (see post in Post Processing and Printing)

I really like this image... It seems to defy all standard "RULES" of composition but, luckily there are no "Composition Police" ready to arrest anyone who breaks the rules (which are actually, in reality, just suggestions).

I can see why your wife would like it on the wall. It's well done and unique.

Sometimes it is just easier to go to a commercial printer and have the work done. One word of warning, many of the commercial printers use a chromogenic process, rather than ink jet print and these do have a shorter life.

Look at the postings you responded to on the Epson SureColor P600.

If he were to print it full width on his P600, he would be looking at an image that is 13" high x 25" long. The standard sheet size is 13" x 19" (A3+) size.

He could put it on a sheet that size and end up with something that is close to 10" x 19". Obviously that is not what he is trying to do. The next standard paper size up is 17" x 22", so even cutting that down on the long size still doesn't give him the 25" he is looking for.

I bought the roll feed for my P800 for very much the same reason.

My last girlfriend was an artist and regarding the rules of composition she was taught that if it looks right then it probably is ... 'rules' or not.
I've decided to send this one to a printer in London to have it mounted on acrylic the size I want

Hi Paul... an absolutely stunning image.

A thought about printing ... have you considered Chromalux (printing on aluminium) as an alternative to acrylic?

I have been rather impressed with a couple of my stained glass images on this medium.

I have used Loxley Colour in Glasgow. (www.loxleycolour.com)
They will provide a small proof print for assessment if you request it.

James, it's Loxley that I'm going to get to print this image. I toyed with the idea of printing on aluminium but acrylic just wins out for me. However I have a couple of black and whites that I may well consider printing on aluminium

WOW, stunning; That horse's eye penetrate deep; Actually the whole success of this image is because of that eye; every thing else contributed to that wonderfully, of course...
