Why do you only want to hear from people that use Canon WiFi?
In general, a WiFi card can only connect to one device at a time. When you connect your camera to your phone you are essentially connecting to an independent two device network (one WiFi card in each of your devices), so only one passcode at a time will work. If your camera came with two built-in WiFi cards (which it doesn't) you could do what you want.
If you are running either your phone or tablet through your home network, these devices will have to disconnect from your home network before they can communicate with your camera.
The reason you can connect with more than one device on your home network (using the same password) is that you are running it through a router, which has been designed to allow for multiple device connectivity.
