    NIK Software...

I own the copy of NIK Software Suite that I originally purchased from Google before they began giving it away free.

I use NIK extensively in connection with my Photoshop CC (which I always keep up to date).

I have experienced no problems using NIK with PSCC

DXO is offering NIK Collection II at $79 USD.

I am wondering if there would be any advantage in upgrading my present NIK to NIK II? I don't really see any great advantages but, I may be missing something...

    3. New preset effects have been added to Color Efex and HDR Efex plus some other assorted upgrades. These are documented here:

For users of Affinity Photo, the older version of Nik did have some problems which seem to have been fixed in the current version.

Their UK website says £125. If their arithmetic is 79USD = 125GBP, can someone please tell me how I can contact them to buy some of my dollars?

Bill, I am not getting your point, I am sorry. I am sure I am misunderstanding something.
Richard posted the link to the site where the discount is. Does't it work for you in Scotland ?
    What am I missing ?

    Antonio

When I searched for the updated NIK the DxO site did not show the discounted option, so I was comparing the offer price (which is what is in Richard's post) with what the UK website showed me, that is 79USD compared to 125GBP. Of greater concern is that I have a fully paid copy of DxO and looked on there for the update and it came up as 125GBP. Great customer loyalty DxO ... I don't use DxO much at all now and that's about to got to zero.

    Re: NIK Software...

Capture One Pro 12 for raw development, library, and initial processing, then PS and original (free) NIK, mainly Silver Efex Pro and Color Efex Pro both of which are called from either C1 or PS as plugins. Occasionally Affinity Photo and Zerene Stacker. I bought DxO Photolab when it was released but don't use it any more.

EDIT: I very rarely use any of the NIK presets, but prefer to start with the basic default option and adjust to taste. The original free version works fine (I had to apply the recognised fix to get it to work as a plugin in PS, but no issues at all from C1) so don't see any point in paying for the "new and improved" version, even at the offer price.

    Re: NIK Software...

As with Bill - I don't use the presets. My use of NIK is pretty well restricted to some sharpening, some noise reduction and a lot of Viveza... I have had no problems with NIK and I think that I will save my money...

Same here, I know there will come a day when I will have to upgrade, but for now all is well.
