I'm getting some action at the feeders as the hummers prepare to migrate to Mexico for the winter. They are fighting over the feeders because there are few flowers now. I use manual focus, manual exposure and high burst rate. My trick is to focus on the most popular spot on a feeder, then pull out to the left and wait for the action. I think this is the best of today's shots:

Re: Ruby
Thanks for the kind words, Trev, Bill, and Peter. The hummers were at it again this morning, and I got some pretty good results. I may be delayed in posting anything because it is a busy week ahead for us; among other things, we have to go down to San Antonio on Wednesday for the quarterly ALS comprehensive clinic, which is always a tiring experience. Luckily, our son will be able to get away and do the driving, because San Antonio traffic is more nightmarish for us even than Austin's.
