    St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church

I only had the 85mm f/1.8 with me when I visited the church, yesterday... Since it is only a ten minute or so drive from my house, I will visit it again when there are nice clouds. I'd also like to shoot it in infrared...

Richard, the photo is great but it looks a bit strange. I do not know what it is but...
Perhaps the colours are strange... have it been through Nik ?
There are halos around the right cross and also a bit around the right volume...
You have to make justice to the quality of your equipment.
Please, do not be mad at me !

Richard, nice photo. Sometimes it's best to have only one lens. Valerie Jardin, the street photographer refers to it as "the power of limitations."

I agree with Antonio. Nice shot, but there are halos on many of the high-contrast edges, although some are less apparent than others. The blue in parts of the sky looks unnaturally saturated and dark. What was your processing?

I very seldom use the presets in NIK software but, I did this time. Here is the original without the NIK preset - I agree that the NIK was not a good choice...

No, no, no Richard ! The Nik may be good choice...

But curiously or not so, I still see some halos around the cross and building at the right volume. Shoot in jpg, I suspect...
I think there is something wrong here.

I like the sky and I like the building. What I don't like is that the latter is falling over.

I shot in RAW and opened the image in Adobe Bridge Camera RAW - there might have been some inadvertent sharpening applied in the conversion from the RAW file. Here is another try...

And here it is using the NIK - ColorFX - Polarizer - light
    St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church

I visited the Serbfest with the idea of only shooting portraits but, the sky and white marble church looked so good that I grabbed a shot. Normally, I would have added a CPL filter for a shot like this...

Interesting comments - I've gotten to the stage where I am using Nik a lot less than I used to.

What also bothers me is the excessive perspective distortion on the left hand side. The right look pretty good.

Re: St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church

I corrected the left side distortion a smidgen and also darkened the sky a bit...

I agree, Peter. The image needs a small anticlockwise rotation.
