Very nice Peter, good sense of depth to the image.

An excellent evocative image. It really conveys the misty dank day.
Two of the many things I like about the image are that only the triangular part of one priory wall is reflected in the water, and the material floating on the water by the far water's edge defines the edge of the river and adds interest along the line of reflection.
Nice processing and capture.
A really intriguing image. Haunting.
I wonder about cropping. The blurred dark area on the left and the bright band on the right don't seem to contribute, IMHO, and the latter is a bit distracting. There is also a lot of sky, and cropping from the sides would require cropping some of that. What I envisioned was sort of this:
You may be right Dan. I think choosing a crop for my images is one of my weakest areas.
I did apply a vignette to the image to concentrate the view through the centre
I love this image. If it were mine, I might slightly crop it at the bottom. However, it is beautiful just the way it is. I could see this image in a very large size, printed on metal, hanging on a wall!
Wow, Peter, literally an atmospheric shot.
I lived in Lincoln for many years and never knew that was there ...
Thanks.
Not that Newark actually. Newark Priory is located in the village of Ripley , Surrey, close to where I live. It was founded in the late 13th century and was dissolved by Henry VIII in the 16th century and has been a ruin ever since. It sits on an island on private farm land so getting close is not easy. No idea why it was called Newark Priory. No other local reference to Newark at all.
Very beautiful and moody. A lot of emotion and character in this image. The reflections add a lot to the overall scene. Wonderful and thanks for sharing.
