    Putin's 67th birthday photographs

I would have made better photographs, if ever I got the chance to.
Me, a modest Portuguese amateur photographer.

It's what you get when you are used to shooting with a Kalashnikov rather than an Canon!

    Canon or any other brand...
Perhaps he shot with Zenit. That really doesn't matter. All brands are good when you know what you are doing.
    This is bad in composition.

Sorry Antonio... it was a play on words... a Cannon is a large heavy weapon, I was alluding to the sounds of the Canon camera manufacturer to the weapon and it's association with Russian militarism.

He doesn't look like much of a strongman in that photo.

Judging from his location in the landscape and his demeanor, I would say he is almost over the hill...

I would have preferred that the pole be behind Putin, with his hands tied to it, and him blindfolded.

Some people may consider that as a good idea...

    Sigh...

Over the hill can be taken in two ways:
    1. Literally almost over the hill means almost at the crest and from the general lie of the land that would well be the case.
    2. Almost over the hill can also mean almost past one's prime. Which is what was suggested by Paul's post #6.

Putin and I share the same age, so the second is very possible!

    'Over the Hill'....??
I've been told a few times that I am... and I usually agree... but I do point out that I've been picking up speed on the way down...

I'd bet quite a few people in say, Russia, Ukraine, the United States, Europe, just to name a few places would consider it a good idea.
