Although it's quite possible to extract detailed images from a reflection, the story seems a bit too sterile to be totally true. While the story on dpreview is vague, the linked article provides additional clues:
1. hi-res smartphone
2. Used Google street-view to pinpoint her station, other social media images to recognize her house.
3. and finally, for a supposed fanatic he only groped her and pulled her down, they stated he injured her but nothing specific.
The story rings more like a public service announcement and possibly a marketing tool for the various tools and services.
