A few more autumn photos for critique

All from the Berkshires in Western MA a week or so ago.

#1. Looking east over Adams from Mt. Greylock. It was very hazy that day, so this took a lot of work.

#2. Fall reflections, Cheshire Reservoir. I know, yet more reflections, but this one really caught my eye.

#3. Maple and birch. On the grounds of the Clark Art Institute, Williamsburg

#2 looks like a French Impressionist painting. I also like it vertically flipped...

You are making great strides as a landscape photographer, Dan. All three are nice images but I feel that the first one has the most potential because of your shooting position.

Might I suggest a slight crop. This is a technique that Edward Burtynsky uses in a lot of his work; crop the sky to create a stronger image.

Thanks, all. Manfred--thanks for the suggestion. The sky in this shot really does contribute nothing but distraction.

I still think I lack the imagination to be a landscape photographer. Most of my landscape images look like simple snapshots of pretty places. However, I guess I am making a little progress. Last night someone wrote me to ask if he could purchase a print of another shot from this same shoot that I posted recently in another thread:

Dan, Landscape is such a difficult genre. So much of what is beautiful to photograph, has already been done. It's hard to get a unique take. This last image though, is my favorite... it's fantastic.

Hi Dan, I like the colors of the third photo. Very beutiful. The three people and their arrangment adds a lot to the photo. Not for nothing but it looks pretty imaginative to me. Daniel
