    Renaissance Faire Portraits...

I visited the Renaissance Faire in Escondido, CA today with the intent of shooting portraits. However I only spent about two hours at the Faire because the temperature was 95 degrees Fahrenheit (about 17.7 Centigrade) and climbing by 10:30 AM when I left.

I did manage to grab about 40 decent portraits in the time I was there. I shot with my Sony APSC cameras: The A6400 with a Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS lens and the A6500 with the Sony 85mm f/1.8 lens. I had a small Flashpoint/Godox TTL350S on each camera for a bit of fill flash... This was a really nice lightweight combination for walk around photography...

Here are the portraits on my smugmug site:

It looks like you had a good outing.

Your Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion is off quite a bit. 95°F = 35°C.

It was a fun couple of hours - if it wasn't so hot, I would have stayed longer. Tomorrow would have been a better day to visit the Faire but, I am committed to shooting at Mission San Luis Rey for their pre-Dia de los Muertos festivities... That should be fun also and the first of the four Dia de los Muertos celebrations that I am hoping to attend this year.

Gorgeous set Richard. I wish I had your skill in engaging with people to take their photos. Perhaps because I so hate having my photo taken, I find it hard to ask people if I can take theirs...

    Trev-
Almost any event that has reenactors is great for shooting people shots. The reenactors are always happy to have their picture taken.
There is no stress or strain when asking their permission to photograph them...
