    Mawddach estuary

    Thoughts on this, please.
This is the Mawddach estuary in West Wales. There was no interest in the foreground, and an undistiguished sky, so I took a wide angle image and darkened sky and foreground, trying to produce a minimalist effect.
I tried a B&W version, but liked the sky's colouring in this version. Almost monochrome.
Is there enough in the image to make it interesting, or is it merely bland?

You could lose some of the sky and increase the detail in the shadows, nice effort.

Smashing picture, everything leads towards the bright sky, reflection and the bridge silhouette. I would clone out the three boats on the right.

Having a halfway horizon tends to create conflict between the foreground and sky regarding which one should be the dominant feature. So I would lose a bit from one of them and go to a more panoramic size ratio. Probably, lose some of the foreground and retain the sky? Otherwise, this scene looks good to me.

+1 to Greg's comments. A 2:1 or 3:1 ratio would create a stronger image. Much of the water and the clouds at the top don't really contribute to the image. While the horizon is not quite centred, in a crop I would probably be more aggressive with the water as it is less interesting than the sky.

As Greg has suggested. play around with the positioning of the horizon. It's not quite centred in the image and I suspect moving it closer to the bottom third will give you a stronger composition.
