The lighting is certainly different and I like it.

Joe Definitely not edible or as Terry Pratchet used to say " All mushrooms are edible, but, some only once "

That is a proper mushroom. I expect to see a small figure in a pointy green hat sitting on one in your next picture

A nice shot. Interesting lighting and good colors.

It is not in focus all the way from front to back. That may be your intent. Out of focus areas in the back often work well, although it isn't usually my own preference. And in this case, it might be best to keep the back out of focus in order to maximize the blur of the background, which otherwise could have been distracting.

However, out of focus areas in the front tend to be distracting, and you have some of this on the left. You shot at f/6.3, so you could have increased depth of field quite a bit even with a single image, that is, without any focus stacking.

    Just my tastes...

    I love the image...

It does look like a "fantasy land" image

I am planning a "Fantasy Puppy" calendar with mushrooms, gnomes and puppies...

If this were my image, I might: open the shadows surrounding the closest mushroom, reduce the brightness of the largest mushroom, crop a touch closer and eliminate the bright spot image right of the mushroom. What do you think?

My opinion is that everyone observes things from his own experience, for me the photo I made is the right one.
