View on the way up to Whitehorse YT
Went on a little road trip in mid August and early September up into the Yukon and North West Territories, with the goal being getting to Tuk on the Arctic Ocean coast. Here is one of the shots on the way to Whitehorse YT.

Lovely image Allan!
I hear that the Dempster Highway has gotten quite busy. I have also heard that the shale they used to build the road is really rough on your tires. Someone I know who made the trip went through a couple of spares on the way to Tuk.
Did you make it?

Manfred: yes I did make it all the way to Tuk, this is the rig that I took a 2008 Toyota FJ pulling Little Guy trailer that is make for off road travel. It distance to Eagle Plains is 367Km the speed limit is 90km. To do 90Km you either have to have a rental or be on meth, you are lucky to do 50km many places because of road work it would state to slow down to 50Km, I would have had to sped up as I was usually doing 35Km. As for the shale it is found more in the lower end (start) of the road for the first couple of hours or more. If you were to drive it in a ca,r suggest new tires as a trucker I met, stated the trick is to go SLOW. I tires I had on my rig were standard for the FJ just 6ply as to the 10ply truck type tire. From Dawson to Tuk I believe that it is 990 or so kms.
