    Tubes

Continuing my retro ways of today.

I picked up a box of some old tube. I'm lighting them with a pair of snoots fitted with gels. Once I figure out what I am doing, I expect this concept is going to turn into a larger project.

I was confused when reading “tubes” then looking at the image I realised that your tubes would be my valves!
I shall look forward to seeing more of your tube images as your project progresses Manfred.

    Good idea Manfred
It reminds me of my first job when, in an electronic workshop, I had to check all the tubes/valves to decide if they should be changed or not.
    nice picture.

Great start... Perhaps hitting the tubes with a snooted side light with a different colored gel like perhaps a yellow or red?

Two snoots were used in this shot Richard; the key light from the camera left side was blue and the secondary accent light had a dark magenta from the camera right side. The camera left light was set to side light and the camera right light was s=just a bit forward of being a side light.

I was expecting to see fluorescent light fittings not Valves lol. What a difference moving across the pond makes to our language. The lighting looks good, have you tried taking pictures of the valves with their own heaters lit. That is very effective. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures from when I was a tv service technician to display nowadays.

Oh you have done this also...
Why blue ? Why not it's own colours ?

Because I tried that and found the results less interesting.
