    The Illusion OF Two

This was captured with the intent to convert to blk/wht as try to create the perception of a duplicate plant that would be hard to detect the original from the shadow. Just having some fun as being that I am mostly home bound in my slow and long recovery.

A nice concept;to make it more appealing you could have made the table appear horizontal at the long edge; not sure, even the glass vase appears a bit inclined to left side; wish you a speedier recovery too

Nice concept, I think to do as you envision (fusion of shadow and midtone) you'd have to lift the shadows or darken the midtone in post, I think your image as shown gets cheated because of the amount of light falling on the base. I agree with Nandakumar's opinion on the table and if the image were cropped to the base of the stems you might be a bit closer in achieving your goal as photographed.
