Spectacular collection of images - National Geographic Quality! Well done slide show also!
How did you protect your camera/lens when the colored powder was flying around. I noticed in one of your images a few photographers using plastic bags over their cameras.

Commercial rain cover with two openings (with elastic sleeves) for the hands and a plastic window to try to look through. A clear filter on the lens with the opening for the lens to poke out taped in place on the lens hood with gaffer's tape. Needless to say, there were no lens changes at all. All the shots were taken with a 24 - 70mm lens on a FF body.

The cover looks very much the same as I used when I was on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska one year when "Summer didn't come to Alaska". It rained cats and dogs every one of the ten days I was there...

It has been many years since I last visited India. I loved its people who you captured so beautifully.
