This is another attempt at photographing a small, traditional Japanese, cast iron tea pot. It holds one to two cups of tea; so is quite small but heavy.
I wasn't really getting anywhere with the low key version of this image (on a black background), so I decided to switch backgrounds and shoot against white seamless. In my view, the shot is not nearly as dramatic, but seems to work reasonably well.
This is a composite image where I merged five different shots. I used flags to control hard reflections on the edges of the the tea pot as well as getting a more pleasing view of the handled and the reflections on the handle. It is a colour image; small spots of brown rust are visible in some areas of the image.
I used three lights; two small reflectors with grids on the camera left and camera right side and one strip box to light the background.
