Re: Yorkie
My mother had a miniature Yorkie it was one of the most vicious dogs I've ever known. Kind of teeth in, ask questions later.
But we all loved it.

Terrier Instincts
IMO biting tendencies is a trait that could be mitigated by early training. However, although the Yorkies are mostly kept as lap dogs now, they are terriers and can have terrier instincts.
I have a small citrus grove on my acre of property. The fallen oranges and tangerines attract field rats. I have a Rough Coated Jack Russell Terrier who is the scourge of these vermin.
When I see a rat laying with its neck broken - I know that Sasha has done her job. I often marvel at the dual tendencies of Sasha.: sweet and loving companion and vicious killer of vermin.
