    Caiman

This is a re-visit of an image I shot last March, while visiting the Iguazu Falls in Argentina. This large specimen was lying in a small stream, not all that far from the falls (a few hundred meters / yards) along side an elevated path / bridge.

What I liked about the shot was the way that the colours of the reptile's scales complemented the stream bottom; both colours and textures. What I did not like was the shadows cast on the caiman, especially its head, so I have been coming back to the shot and I think I finally have gotten to the point where I am happy with it.

    Caiman

This one is definitely going to be printed, but I'm still not decided on the crop and size. This shot looks a lot better in Lightbox mode.

Nicely exposed and composed, this would look quite interesting as the bottom of a glass topped coffee table.

Smashing image Manfred. The narrow colour range and the way the light on the water has given it a scale-like texture is superb.

This, I think, is one of your very best images.

Not quite, I crossed a bridge and guess what was in the water below...
