My name is Steve. I live in Macomb, Mi. (north of Detroit). I have been involved in photography for over 40 years. I started out as a crime scene photographer and then took the experience and technical knowledge, and applied it to a general interest in photography. Forensic macro photography got me interested in photographing insects and then spiders. I got deeply interested in spiders and have been a regular presenter at schools, Audubon and other nature group meetings. Once I retired from the police department, I joined the faculty of Oakland Community College and took over the Crime Scene Photography classes. Now in my 12th year, I enjoy sharing my knowledge of photgraphy and feel a real sense of accomplishment when I get one of my students "hooked on photography". My students especially like the night trip to a local cemetery to learn how to photograph by the light of the moon and painting with light.
Currently I shoot with a Canon 7D (kept my 20D as back up). My primary lens is the 24-70mm f2.8L. I get a lot of use out of my 100mm f2.8 macro lens and new to my lineup is the 300mm f4L IS. These lenses seem to cover most aspects of my photography.
This website impressed me from the first paragraph. I find it to be a valuable asset in understanding many aspects of digital photography.
I look forward to accessing these pages on a regular basis.
