Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hello, I am Amanda and use an old E310 - or something like that - I previously used the E410 and a couple of others, but I love the chunkiness of the 310, it feels like a camera should feel!
Very much a beginner and want to learn ... and here is one of my latest pics, too busy i know, but i liked the juxtoposition of snow, palm tree and an incredibly bright and sunny day.

Hi. I'm Emory, but most call me em. I live in the California Wine Country and have been trying to learn to shoot the beautiful scenery, but I'm mostly a b&w people guy. Been shooting off and on all my life. Recently retired, so now I'm trying to take my photos to another level. Looks like a good community for exchange here and I love constructive feedback, no matter how tough it may be. We can't learn from sugar coatings (but if you really love something, I guess I'd like to hear that, too.) Cheers, all.

Hi Amanda,
That description has me intrigued, not things one usually associates together, but unfortunately we can't see the picture :(
Here's a thread with some step-by-steps to image posting (various methods)

Hello,
Greetings from Manila! I stumbled upon this site when I'm searching for some tutorials about post processing technique. I used to be a Canon 30D & L lenses user but it's getting heavier and heavier for me so I shifted to less weight photography. So, I'm now a micro 4/3 and a Digital Rangefinder user. I'm pretty sure I'll learn a lot from here. TIA.

CiC is a resource strongly focused towards learning, no matter what your current level of knowledge, skills and experience. As well as these forums, where you can engage in discussion, ask questions and seek comment and criticism on your pictures, CiC has a comprehensive range of tutorials that, by common consent, are amongst the most sensible and straightforward that you can find anywhere. Remember to have a look on the tutorials and techniques pages which you can access from the menu bar.
And finally, the Mod team thought it might be a useful addition to CiC to have in-house access to some selected video tutorials. You can find them in the Community Lounge forum under 'Photography Video Tutorials'.

I am Brian. Just an old duffer with various bits of Canon stuff.
I spend most of the day sleeping in my rocking chair thinking of new places to get my concessions. Always got my camera to hand with many pictures of my slippers and pipe taken when I clicked when fallen aleep.

Hello,
My name is Karen and I am a complete beginner who wants to learn how to drive my old Nikon D50 (soon to be upgraded to a Nikon D300S) which was my 1st DSLR which I bought to take on a trip to China  Up until now I have been a picture taker rather than a photographer. On the path to rectifying this I discovered your website and have found your tutorials most helpful and look forward to gaining some photographic skills :)

Great to have you on board CiC. Where are you? You haven't put a location in your profile.
Hopefully the discussions here on the forum will add to what you get from the tutorials.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi All,
My name is Emma and I have just stumbled upon this site and thought it looked very useful.
In a previous incarnation I was a teacher (Art) but I am currently at home with my baby. Apologies in advance for the numerous baby photos to ensue!
Not sure what my level is - I'll leave that up to you'll to decide! I studied Fine Art but have done a few part time short photography courses and am currently studying AS level Photography.
I mainly use digital but am becoming more interested in film photography. My main interests in photography are portraiture (studio and environmental), landscape, macro and street photography.
Equipment-wise, I have a Nikon d80 (which I'm planning to upgrade to a D700) and small range of fast(ish) primes from 24 - 85mm.
I welcome constructive criticism as for me this is the best way to learn.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi all, I'm Didi Baev, molecular biologist (PhD). To be a biologist is a way of seeing the world, not merely to have diplomas,:). As a biologist I'm employing my knowledge to help different NGO's to fight against GM foods. As a photographer my main interests are in photographing nature details and flowers. Like very much to transform some of my shots into abstract images. Also I'm interested in arts/abstract art, progressive rock (Jethro Tull, Van der Graaf Generator etc), and still listening to vinyl. Cheers!
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi all.
My name is Thodoris Alexandropoulos and I'm an Electrical and Computer Engineer with a PhD in Machine Vision.
I've been practicing photography for some years, initially with a Canon EOS 50 film camera, afterwards with a Sony DSC-V1 compact digital camera. When the last one kicked the bucket, I decided it was time to switch to a digital SLR.
My topics of interest include (but are not restricted to) landscapes and underwater photography.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Didi and Thodoris
Two PhDs at the one time!
