Hi,
Just a quick intro. I'm getting back into serious photography after a gap of about 15 years,I am 63 years old and have been forced into early retirement by being made redundant,I love the new digital format. As I am new to digital and did not know if I would adapt to the new format I bought a second hand Fuji E900 complete with wide angle and telephoto lens's for $50.00 and am surprises at the quality of image that it will produce,I hope to update soon to DSLR. but at the moment I am quite happy with the Fuji as it has full manual control and at 9.8 Mp is quite sufficient for me to use for a reintroduction to our great hobby.I live in Sanderstead, Surrey, in the U.K. and if any one is visiting and needs help just mail me.
Regards,
Mike Barnard

We get everywhere, don't we? Never made it past Glasgow, myself!
You're most welcome into the CiC fold. As I hope you've already found out, this sia place focused on learning and on helping others develop knwoeldge and skills. So please do get involved - posting pictured for comment, asking questions, etc.
Mike
Hello. Good to have you on board. There are quite a few of us on here who were once heavily involved but, for various reasons, drifted away from photography, but have now re-discovered it. So, you're not alone.
So, enjoy the site and please get right involved in posting pictures and joining in discussions.

Hello and welcome to CiC. You may have noticed that we tend to use proper names on the site. So, if you would like to, you can edit your profile and insert your name under Real Name. It will then show up alongside all your posts.
I hope you enjoy being part of CiC.
I notice you added a second post here with a picture for comment. A couple of points.
This is only a welcome thread. Members wouldn't come in here to view images for comment & criticism. So I've moved it into the Nature and Landscapes Photo Commerntary forum as a new thread.
As you can see, it's only showing up as a Thumbnail. You didn't not complete the whole process for adding images in line. there are another couple of steps you've still got to take to get your image posted in your message.
Have a read of this thread where you will get all the assistance you need to learn about posting images.
I have posted your image inline in the new thread I created.

Hi all, my name is Alberto Sardo from Italy (Savona). I've visited the Cambridge-in-Colour tutorials (very useful and clear) and decided to stay in the forum, certainly for sharing images and getting any types of feedback. I knew the factors affecting image quality in my previous job that was in medical imaging both analog and digital forms.
Now the interest in photo-imaging and the possibility to "develop" the image by digital fields on PC, the photo became an actual hobby. Certainly I'm expecting many, further improvements.
Ciao, alberto

Getting to the standard of some of the best stuff on here is all about practice, learning, practice, learning ...... etc. Hopefully all of us on here can help you with that.

We have a new person in the position of most northerley CiC member.
Noelia - Welcome to CiC. It's great to have you join up.
I was the most northerley member for a while, then Ron, in Norway, stole the crown. And now it's you. You should go the CiC Google Map and place a flag in your location.
The images on your Flickr pages are wonderful and I look forward to seeing many of them on here.
