Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hallo my name is Greg and I have been using film cameras off and on for 40+ years mostly MF and LF. Because of my love for painting and drawing natural process was using cameras. Well last year I decided to take a plunge and bought a DSLR camera(Canon) and now I am learning the ropes by joining forums that can give me help and moral boost for the digital flow.
I like this web site . I am still getting gear together so I hope through this year to be able to start shooting and posting some images.
Thank you Greg My little friend Buster

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hello, Im Mike... even though Ive been taking pictures for years with p&s digitals on motorcycle trips across the US, I decided it was time to take my photography to the next level and recently got my first DSLR a couple months ago... Canon T2i with 18-135mm IS lens. I found this site through the Digital Photography School Forum that I have been trying to learn as much as I can the past month or so as to get out of the Auto mode. While Im an amateur, Im considering possibly going semi-pro, now that my wife and I have moved to a new place primarily for her job. This is leaving me an opportunity to doing contract work and focus on photography.
We went to Africa and Masai Mara last October with our Canon S3... not being able to get the kind of pics I was hoping prompted me to move up to the Rebel... Now after studying up on these forums, Im wondering if I should have held out for the next level up on the Canon line... Oh well, its a start and Ill have a "second DSLR" when Im ready to move up again! My current interest is landscape photography. One of the neat things about having moved to Lancaster County PA is that we are surrounded by the Amish. Alot of interesting subject matter to take out here.

Hi All, this is Kuntal. I am a follower of the tutorial from quite a long time. Photography is my hobby. I am not a good photographer, but trying hard to improve :). I use a Nikon D60 with one 18-55 VR, 70-300 VR and a Prime 32mm. Mainly I like to take pictures of landscape and like low light photography.
This site was very much helpful to me for quite a long time. Hopefully this forum will be more helpful to me.
Thanks - Kuntal

Delighted to hear you saying so, James. I hope you find the forum a perfect complement to teh tutorials. This is where the vast knowledge and experience of members (and I hope, now, your as well) is put at the disposal of other members so that, together, we all learn and develop.
You don't say where you are. You can edit your profile and insert both your proper name and your location, so that they appear in the side bar beside all your posts.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Tiffany I am from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (US). My dream job would be working for/with National Geographic. I am obsessed with nature (waterfalls, rainbows, animals, trees, etc.). I have always been referred to as the “one with the camera” everyone says, “you have to email me those pictures.” My love for photography was really sparked when I studied abroad in my undergrad program. I went on Semester at Sea (on a ship taking you around the world – 1% of the population does this in their lifetime, best experience of my life – another one of my goals is to be the photographer on the ship once my skills are sharp enough and I have enough confidence). On this voyage I saw some of the most amazing places (South Africa, Vietnam, Brazil, India, Malaysia, China, Japan, etc.). I enjoyed capturing the poverty and beauty simultaneously. I am currently using a Nikon D90, very nice intro camera. I recently purchased a light kit and backdrop equipment. I am trying my best to really get into the profession and network. It has been my dream since I was a little kid, but was scared of pursuing it because I was told that if you are not the best you are will fail, they said it was “cut throat.” I am graduating in April with a masters degree in Social Work, so I have the people skills necessary and an eye for photography, now it’s the technical and business aspects I really need to learn and focus on. I have briefly poked around the website and cannot believe how helpful it is. I am currently focusing on the lighting with portraits because I was recently asked to do school portraits. So thank you all very much this is great to be a part of this community. I look forward to the learning experience and getting to know the members of this community. Take care : )

:) Hello everyone, I was directed to this site by a posting in one of the OCA students forums. I am very impressed by the quality of the tutorials and look forward to looking at the work of some of the contributors. The OCA coursework keeps me pretty busy (I work full time too) so it may be a while before I can fully participate in the forum and post some of my work.

Hello everyone!
My name is Nicholas and I am from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I am a hobby photographer but I have had a few photos published for editorial content or sporting events such as auto racing. I am mostly self-taught have taken a few courses and some schooling part-time. But mostly,I am just learning from using camera - I try to keep a promise to myself to shoot something each and every week just for the pleasure of it. That's my goal.
I am always keen to learn how to become better at what is my passion. I would really welcome any constructive comments : )
Thanks for taking the time to read this and all the best!
Nicholas
I just thought that I would say that I am currently using a Canon 50D and also have a Canon XTI and a Canon EOS Elan. :)

Hello everyone:-)
My name is Silvija and I am from Croatia:-)
I am new in photography world and a few days ago I bought myself my first ever camera. But, not a proffesional camera (canon xs30is) because this is my first time starting to read and learn about photography and taking interest in it. I literally don't know anything....But it's never too late for starting to learn.
This is a great site where I can really learn and see my mistakes. I have never taken any courses about photography and I recently shoot my first picture (which was really bad):-)
I am hoping for better ones and for you to help me to upgrade myself and to improve my photos:-) Your criticism is welcomed.
And I apologize for my grammatical mistakes, because english is not my mother tongue:-))))
Thank you for reading this post and I am very glad for joining this site
:-)
Re: Introduce yourself here
