My name is Tiffany I am from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (US). My dream job would be working for/with National Geographic. I am obsessed with nature (waterfalls, rainbows, animals, trees, etc.). I have always been referred to as the “one with the camera” everyone says, “you have to email me those pictures.” My love for photography was really sparked when I studied abroad in my undergrad program. I went on Semester at Sea (on a ship taking you around the world – 1% of the population does this in their lifetime, best experience of my life – another one of my goals is to be the photographer on the ship once my skills are sharp enough and I have enough confidence). On this voyage I saw some of the most amazing places (South Africa, Vietnam, Brazil, India, Malaysia, China, Japan, etc.). I enjoyed capturing the poverty and beauty simultaneously. I am currently using a Nikon D90, very nice intro camera. I recently purchased a light kit and backdrop equipment. I am trying my best to really get into the profession and network. It has been my dream since I was a little kid, but was scared of pursuing it because I was told that if you are not the best you are will fail, they said it was “cut throat.” I am graduating in April with a masters degree in Social Work, so I have the people skills necessary and an eye for photography, now it’s the technical and business aspects I really need to learn and focus on. I have briefly poked around the website and cannot believe how helpful it is. I am currently focusing on the lighting with portraits because I was recently asked to do school portraits. So thank you all very much this is great to be a part of this community. I look forward to the learning experience and getting to know the members of this community. Take care : )
