Hi to all of you

After my first post in the Nature & Architecture topic I decided to introduce meself over here. Too bad it took a comment of a forum member for me to find this threat :o.

My name is Jeroen and I'm a 16 year old student from The Netherlands. I recently bought a Compacht Digital Camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35) to start discovering the fine art of fotography. I know a CDC isn't 'the real deal' but it a proper Digital SLR Camera would be too expensive for a boy of my age only just starts taking pictures. I hope I'll find over here the help, knowledge and experience to improve my pictures a lot.

Some looking around on this forum and site rapidly convinced me on this forum I can find enough great tutorials, knowledge and awesome examples.

I had a quick look at the spec for your camera, looks quite reasonable and it goes to a nice wide angle too.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Yeah welcome Jeroen. You've certainly started out on the right track with joining this site. Made me wonder if you are our youngest member. I wonder if the moderators could enlighten us?

Hello all at Cambridge in Colour. This is an excellent site and ideal for me as I getting back into SLR photography. I started many moons ago on an Olympus OM2n. When digital started to become affordable I purchased a DSC S50 and later progressed to a Fuji Film S7000 (a very serviceable point and shoot). I have just treated myself to a Canon 450D and I am currently trying to find my way around that. If I post some decidedly dodgy images you will have to forgive me and I welcome ny criticism any of you may have to offer

I'm itching to upgrade to proper a DSLR, I took some low light hand held shots today and although pleasantly surprised that most are sharp (even without IS) at between 1/5 and 1/30 second, the noise at 800ISO is attrocious. Don't get me wrong, it is a very versatile camera and has done well by me, but ...
