Hi, I'm Ken from northern California. I'm a tour operator for adventure travel which gets me to some great photo ops. I shoot digital, with a "prosumer" type camera. This suits my style and is excellent for travel, climbing etc.
Looking forward to learning more from everyone!

Hi I'm Richard from NZ, living in Poland. I enjoy taking pictures and like more of the 'fine art' style, when I take pictures I try to look for unusual angles, texture, colour etc., etc., rather than pictures of dogs, cats and so on and so forth. Looking through some of the photos here, it seems to be within my style. I use the EOS 50D, which is a camera I like a lot.

Just as a quick aside - if you want people to address you as Richard rather than Ricardo, you can go into 'Edit Profile' and put your proper name in under 'Real Name'. That way it will appear under your user name in all you posts.

Very glad you've decided to join in and I'm pleased to see that CiC might suit your approach to photography and your photographic interests. You will certainly find lots of people on here more than willing to share their thoughts, knowledge and experience all with the aim of helping colleagues develop their skills and abilities.

You've got a good tool there with the 50D. I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Hello, I love this site! Therefore I joined. I don't own a cameray yet, but I wouldn't mind a Hasselblad. Well, actually I do own a Kodak Instamatic (broken, and taken apart at 12 yr), a Nikkormat FT (broken during "combat" - it was really hard to break too), and a Nikon F80 that I've actually owned for the last seven or eight years, but never used! I don't consider those "owning" a camera. It has to be one that I'll actually use, and of those I've been using Nikon D40's trough D100's up the years, all borrowed from work, and lately I've dumped Nikon and fallen in love with Canon, particularly the 550D, the D7 and D5. I did also try at Hassleblad in a shop once, and nearly did something funny in my pants.

With a budding passion for photography, I have found this great website and have enjoyed the tutorials, open forums, and witty banter! I'm a rare Oly and am always looking for some fellow dissenters - lol. Keep up the good work CiC. A little something to look at below...not to bad (I suppose) for a kit lens.
