Well, Don, I hope you've found the online resource that will help you get off the presets and turn that wheel round onto the creative modes. You will find you will get far more enjoyment out of picture-making.

I i am into concert photography i am in the market i realy like the canon 60D and would like to know what everyone thinks 0f this camera i wil be getting a new computer soon and will post photos.i am going to try and post some photos now but my computers been acting up so please bre with me.PeaceDon.

That seems to be a very popular name around here at the moment ;) :)

Personally I am a Nikon shooter, but there are plenty of Canonites here including several with the 60D.
By all means ask a question in the Digital Cameras & Equipment forum because not many will see it here.

Hi All,
I'm DW from Texas. I was into photography years ago and used a manual Olympus OM2 SLR. Then came the Point & Shoot cameras so I rode that wave for quite a while. Recently I got a Canon 7D. I mostly shoot landscape and wildlife. I think this is a great website and I look forward to learning more about all aspects of photography.

My name is Pedro, 28 yo, from Portugal. I've been amazed about photography and all sort of machines since I was 4 or 5, when I received my first camera. A few months ago I discovered this site and the tutorials, which are great for a pure amateur like me. I've been learning and exploring much more since then!

Stepping into the community (forum) was the next natural step! :)

Hi everyone,
My name is Sandra i've just finished a night class in photography and still have a lot to learn so i'm hoping you guys can teach me a lot.
I got my first SLR camera two years ago and my interest has grown from there. My particular interest at the moment is portait photograhy, but i also like still life and landscapes.:) The Camera i'm using at the minute is a nikon 3100 with a standard 18 - 55 mm lense, but my birthday is coming soon so hopefully i will get a bigger lense then:)

My name is Carlos. I'm from Brazil and just starting in the photography world to try improve my skills to see if I really enjoy being a good photographer some day. I've got a Sony DSC-HX1 compact super-zoom camera only to replace my old P&S camera at first. However, the manual control allowed by this camera opposed to the old camera made me start reading about photography techniques. Now I'm trying to develop some more skills with this simple camera before taking the next step to a DSLR. By finding this website I think I got a good place to help me in my journey.

Hi there, my name's jeff. I'm from Toronto, Canada. I have been shooting for about 2 years now. I'm a graphic designer specializing in photo-manipulation and print. I started photography as a hobby back in 2009; I have never really shown interest in this medium until then — although I have taken compulsory classes in high school and college. Now I am, more than ever, very interested and learning — which led me to this very resourceful website, thank you.

Thus far, my main interest has been for landscape photography as I travel quite often, but little by little I find myself shooting different areas of photography as well (portrait, macro, astrophotography, etc.).

Carlos - Welcome to CiC. And congratulations in getting your camera into manual control. This does open up lots of new opportunities and although at time it can seem frustrating, the rewards are great once you feel you have begun to take control of the whole shooting process.

my name is Nicolaus, I'm a sports journalist who focuses on motor racing, am living in a small village near Hildesheim, Germany and shoot mainly dogs in action. I have been a point-and-shooter since 1998 but only in 2009, I started to discover the photography as a real hobby. Since then, I've really caught the fever and spend a lot of my leisure time with taking pictures.
As I'm sitting about eight to ten hours a day at my computer, I'm a 95-percent-JPEG shooter as I also want to spend some time with my beloved wife and our five dogs (two Bearcoat Shar Pei, two Chow Chows and one small Elo) instead of sitting more hours in front of the screen to PP the pictures I've shot.
Nonetheless, I'm PPing some of them as I love to use them for producing short comics.
So, that's it for the moment - hope I will learn a lot, here.

My name is Tim. I am 64 years old, retired, enjoy photograph, woodworking, RVing, and the grandkids. I been taking pictures for about 5 years now, hopefully my pictures are starting to get better. I am using a PENTAX KX camera with a TAMRON 28-300mm zoom lense as my primary, and a SIGMA 150-500mm.

I take lots of pictures of my grandkids. I enjoy taking of sunrises, sunsets, waterfalls, and just about anything that catches my eye. I almost always have my camera with me all the time.
