I'm Chicago IL in the U.S. I haven't study photography in a while kind of lost my way but since I'm back in school I have pick back up where I left off at. For now I have a Canon PowerShot SX120 IS an little point and shoot. Would love it if anyone could help me or guide me on with my photography.

My name is Darlene. I hale from Southern NJ/USA (Near Philadelphia, PA).

I caught the shutter bug just out of high school when a friend taught me about SLR cameras. My first SLR was a Minolta X700 which I purchased just before the first auto focus camera was introduced. I loved my Minolta and used it without auto focus for so long there didn't seem to be a need to spend the money on a whole new system just for that. It may have not been the fastest shot but I love to shoot flowers and macro so it served me well.

I didn't have time for much shooting in the 90's and 2000's with my career and finishing my Master degree, so now I finally have my first auto focus and digital SLR and feel like I need to learn everything all over again.

Hope all of you will help me use this terrific machine (Nikon D90 and 4 great lenses/Thanks Generous Hubby) to bless everyone with the beauty of this world. Look forward to interacting with all of you!

Hello, my name Arief Rahardjo, I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I just joined this site. I want to learn and improve my photography skills. I am a point of shot camera lover. The most reason is because I don't have enough budget to buy a SLR camera, yet . I do hope that I will able to buy a SLR in future.
Most of my photo is just spontaneous, that's why I love to carry pocket camera anywhere I go.
I welcoming harsh critics for my photo. I know if friends want to help his/her friend getting better and make an improvement they will yell if really needed..

The important thing so far as CiC is concerned is not what kind of camera or other equipment you have, but your enthusiasm for photography.

Being able to have a DSLR does open up more opportunities for making pictures, buit there is much you can do and learn through using a point and shoot camera as well.

My first time also...joining a forum. Been taking point and shoot pics for a long time, but only learning to use a DSLR (Nikon D60) in manual mode since April this year. The Sony DCR DVD650 doesn't cut it for me anymore, although I've taken lots of pics of flowers and video of wildlife, I'm looking to do alot better.
