The one thing I think it is impossible to do on CiC is to upset anyone with 'newbie' questions. Asking questions is one of the best ways to learn. And CiC is very much about learning and helping people to learn.

Hi all, my name is Nick, complete novice enjoying the highs and lows of learning to use a DSLR. Have only been into photography for about a month, after a faithful compact died, got a DSLR and could not believe the difference right out of the box. learnt a great deal already form the site and looking forward to learning a whole lot more.

I stumbled on this site somewhat by accident, and I love the look and feel of it. I have been photographing for many years, and I need something to get me inspired again. I have albums all over the web, most notable at edfleet.zenfolio.com. I look forward to exploring this site, and perhaps entering some of the competitions.

Hiii guys.. Am Saumyadip Das, an comp.sc engineering student 4m Kolkata, India.... Am jst a rookie in photography, cuz the experience level I possess, for the most part, is just casual amateur... Even I dnt hav any expensive DSLR or SLR camera, my ordinary digicam (Kodak-Z8612IS) N' lense 18-55mm is the only strand of my passion in this field... And u know what, i m becoming shutterbug day by day...... :D :) Always awaiting passionately 4 the better clicks N' hungry for gud snaps.... :( :( Wud lik to learn 4m every1... Plzz guide me how 2 step 4ward cuz actually there is none who will guide me in suitable way.... IHence, I need ur suggestion and tips 4 d bettermnt of my photography... Regardz... I have just been taking pictures without the AF for several months now and I am reading everything I can. The tutorials are great and easily understood. I have not long purchased a new 8-16mm lens trying to get away from my Canon 75-300mm lens to try new areas to find out what I enjoy the most.

Welcome to CiC - it's great to have you with us.

Love you too, but would be REALLY great if you could avoid using "text-speak", ("u" instead of "you", "regardz" instead of "regards", "4" instead of "for" etc) as it make the posts very hard to read for us old-timers :)
