Say Hello from Indonesia!
My name is Stenlie Kelvin, I'm 18 and I'm interested in landscape photography, I'm still studying about it and someday I want to travel around the country, capture and share some photos. I have a Canon EOS 550D SLR kit, 2 additional lens; EF 50mm f1.8 and EF-S 15-85mm f3.5-5.6 USM.
I hope this forum can broaden my thoughts about photography. Thank you in advance guys!
Welcome Stenlie!
I joined the community just a few weeks ago, and have already learned more in 3 weeks than in the last 6 months. The people in this community have been unfailingly supportive, encouraging, and genuinely happy to see each other improve and create. The moderators seem to have an endless cornucopia of talent, patience and energy. I had sunk into the abyss of spending far too much time in post-processing, to correct for photographic laziness and limitations. You'll learn processing here, but you'll become a photographer first. I still can't believe this is free. I've spent hundreds on books, magazines and tutorials that don't compare.
Best wishes and welcome,
Kevin
hi,
I'm new here. I found this forum through a link on a Photoblog from Sandeep at http://photography.usandeep.com/ and really grateful to him for sharing the link. Hoping to be here often, looking, seeing, sharing, learning ...

Hullo from the Great Southern of Western Australia, Denmark to be precise. A beautiful place to live and take photographs. I have recently reignited a childhood photography passion and am currently learning to use a Nikon DigitalSLR D3100. I came across this site by default and am looking forward to being part of the community. I would love to connect with other members who use the same camera. HT
Hello all. I'm Keli from Texas. I've always loved taking pictures but never owned a "real" camera. I recently purchased a SLR and am obsessed with learning everything I can about both the camera and photography in general. I am excited about joining the community and look forward to diving in and learning!
Hello everyone,
I'm John from Melbourne Australia.
Just joined up today and looking forward to enjoying the site.
I'm very new to photography and have a lot to learn.
Hello everyone.
My name is Donna 3 years ago i was beyond sick of my job. So I quit and returned to school to go after what i really wanted to be doing. I am now in my second and final year of a college photography program. I am always looking to learn more and chat with people also into photography. I enjoy the challege of lerning and trying new things. Thanks for letting me say hello.
Greetings all,
My name is Warren, and I currently reside in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, USA. I've always loved taking photos, but never knew "how" so I've decided to start teaching myself thru online tutorials, others web sites and just plain experimentation. I recently picked up a used Canon DSLR with the stock lens and have begun teaching myself the basics. I have learned tons from the tutorials here at CIC, and feel I'm off on a good start. I look forward to receiving any feedback, suggestions, comments from you all, and thank you in advance for your feedback.
Hello: I am not a very proficient photographer - in fact, I'm really more of a snapshotter. I hope that, by reading postings and viewing images, I'll be able to improve. It really is a great hobby.
Hi! I'm packing for a trip to southern Africa next week so I was poking around the website for any tips I could find and ran across the forum. I use a Canon T1i and have a Macro lens and a Tamron 18-270. I really just play with all kinds of settings to see what happens and sometimes I get some pretty creative shots. Do you have any thoughts on early morning and evening shots while on game drives in Africa? I'd love to learn from you this week and then apply it next week and for the 18 day trip.
Okay Sir.. Surely I will..
Hi Frances,
Yes, it is great - but not cheap (if you get carried away).
We're all here to learn and help each other, so don't be shy posting an image for critique, it is the best way to learn (beyond; "practice, practice, practice").
Here's a link that will help you get the most from us;
