Hello, my name is Danie and I live in Cradock South Africa. I was born in Molteno in the Eastern cape. My first camera was a Brownee box camera and liked to take photos of my friends and family. I lost the lens one day and bought me a Polaroid black and white self- developing camera Which was quite disappointing. Then I got the Kodak 110 which was a great improvement .Now I got a Sony A dslr300 and Pentax point and shoot

Hi everyone
I'm Adrian....as I'm hopefully like many on here ...a fairly new beginner to digital photography, i.e. read all the theory, spent a fair bit on kit (Samsung Nx 11 + 50-200 mm lens + 16mm prime lens + sef42a flash) and...absolutely love playing around and can't believe the difference in quality (never had any confidence that you can take seriously good pics as a total amateur)...anyway lots of questions....thanks already for the patience :-)

Good - that's one of the reasons why CiC exists.

Hello Adrian - welcome to the forum. CiC is set up as a learning resource and here in the forum, you'll find lots of people very willing to share significant knowledge and experience. I also hope you find it a fairly laid back and friendly place where the emphasis is on image-making and not how much equipment you have or how much it all cost.

By the way, so that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts.

Hello, Since retiring a couple of years ago, I have been enjoying the opportunity to explore interests such as photography that I didn't have time for before. I was pleased to have found this forum where I would have the change to ask those basic questions and get answers from those with much more expertise.

My Name is Prem, i am from Bangalore, India, I started Photography not long ago., just been 3 years, but recently took it seriously. I found this site few days ago while Google something., I find it a great place for people like me. I like everything about this site, especially they way things are explained in the tutorials section. with this discovery i am sure i wouldn't take much time for me to gain knowledge with so many experts around here. I currently own Nikon D60 with kit lens and a Sigma 70-300mm lens. Planning to upgrade my kit soon to Nikon D7000. Looking forward for all your support and encouragement.

Hello all! My name is Josh Jones and I started out with a nice Minolta SLR years ago and just purchased the Nikon D-7000. My Christmas present to myself. I'm an IT consultant and it will be at the house when I get home. My daughter plays soccer year around outdoor/Indoor in the winter and want to stop her in action. I also want to be able to take pictures of her sparring in Karate tournaments. I also like landscape and close up and general photography. I don't think I will be disappointed.

I recently sent photos to a stock outlet and they said they wouldn't accept because they were interpolated. I shoot on a NIKON D300 so am confused about what I'm doing wrong in my workflow. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi everyone.
My name is Sharon and I live in beautiful North Wales. I'll attempt to upload a photo to illustrate this at the end of this intro. Attempt is the right word I'm new to joining clubs on-line and new to photography.
I bought my first real camera (Nikon D3100) in August and love it. I haven't stopped taking photos since!
