Hello Sahrul and welcome to the CiC forum.
First of all, congratulation on now having the 450D. I hope you are enjoying it. As you suggest, it is a big step up from a point and shoot, but I hope you are enjoying learning about it.
Anmd that is where CiC can help. This is very much a forum dedicated to learning and to helping people develop knowledge and skills. So, by asking questions, joining in discussions and, of course, posting some of your work onto the forunm and inviting comment and criticism, you will benefit from the experience of the many members on here who will be happy to help you with your learning..
Hello,
I am quite new to photography. I recently bought a Nikon D5100 and have enrolled in photo seminars and private lessons. I am close to a provincial park (Alberta, Canada) so I have lots of oportunities for taking wonderful nature photos. I also take a yearly trip to exotic places eg. South America and Africa so I wanted to bring back photos that were more creative and less postcard.
Lynn
Until I have a new computer and photoshop everything is in jpg.

Hello from Texas,
My name is Dale and I have been interested in photography for many years. I just purchased my first DSLR in September and I am still learning about all it will do. My main interests are nature and landscape photography but like to try other subjects also.
My Flickr stream is:

Lynn - I hope being part of this forum adds to your learning in the seminar and the lessons you've bought. That's certainly it's purpose.
You've certainly got the locations for good photography and, on the basis of that example you've shown us, you certainly know how to put a good image together. That's lovely. The light on the animal's head is sublime: You timed that beautifully.
You've already acknowledged the advantage of moving on to shooting in RAW as soon as you can. I'm sure that once that opportunity is available to you, you'll see many more opportunities opening up for you. And once that happens, there will be lots of advice, guidacne and support available on here to help you with that part of the learning curve,
By the way, So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Welcome, Dale. Good to have you here.
Thanks for putting the link into your Flickr pages. Some nice light in the Texas Gulf Coast set.
I hope you enjoy being part of CiC and that being a member helps you develop your knowledge and skills.

Hello all,
My name is Dave and I live near Vancouver BC. I've been a hobbiest in photography for about nine years now, pretty much ever since my daughter was born. I soon discovered that I enjoyed photographing other things and have taken advantage of the beautiful landscapes in and around my area.
A couple of years ago the photographer for the company I work for decided to move to another part of the country which opened up the door for me to make money in my hobby part time. this has since grown into a second job for me and though consumes many hours of my time, I would not trade it for anything.
Thank you for allowing me into your community!

Great to have you on board.
Greetings from The Netherlands! I'm Dick van Belle and I live in a nice town called Kampen. Born in 1959 I've been a professional glamour photographer for decades and nowadays I'm still doing glamourshoots. But no more for a living, just as an artist. Please take a moment to visit my website http://www.vanbelle.nl. I like the clear tutorials on www.cambridgeincolour.com and I'm certain there very helpful to a lot of photographers.
Hello and welcome to the forum.
If CiC is about anything, it's about helping people to develop their ability in photography and to, hopefully, enjoy doing so. The journey along the learning curve can be frustrating at times, but so long as your part of this forum, all you have to do is a call out. There will always be someone with a view, opinion, suggestion or the definitive answer.
