Hi,
My name is Marius and I moved to Cambridge 7 months ago. I am a beginner photograph, I had some self-trainings and an photo class 2 years ago. Even I have a good picture of how a camera works, I feel, sometimes I need some inspiration on what photography is as an art, and not only focusing on digital techniques.
I own a canon 40d with 2 lenses 18-55 and 55-250 IS, a tripod and a polarized filter.
I found you guys open and nice, I enjoyed some of your tutorials and admired some nice pictures.
That's all by now. Nice to meet you all!
Hi, my name is Michael, I am a keen amateur photographer and I also paint in watercolours and acrylic. Currently living in Copenhagen. Please visit my website http://michael-canning.artistwebsites.com/ I have always used Olympus cameras but only moved to digital when finally the resolution was good enough, never looked back since. I have an E400 with a 14-42 and 40-150 lens. It is only 10Mpixels but I like it so much as it is light and very easy to use.
I enjoy landscape photography and nature. I am going to return to Iceland this year, I was there last year and fell in love with it. This is my blog from last year http://mcanningiceland.blogspot.com/
I found this site when a friend of mine needed some instruction on photograhic basics, I think your tutorials are excellent.

Thank you for your comments, Michael and a very warm welcome to the forum.
That is a wonderful website you have with excellent artwork on display. I was particularly drawn to you 'Rural Scenes' gallery and admire your work greatly.
I hope you enjoy being part of CiC and, given that it is a learning community, I hope your knowledge and experience will be shared with others to help them learn.
Hello I am Louise from Atl, GA, I am a new beginner. I have a Canon EOS Rebel & I would like some lens help/suggestions. I am going on a cruise to Alaska this summer & would like to take some great wildlife pictures. What lens should I buy/rent? I have the lens that came with my camera & also have the 75-300mm lens but I don't think those are the lens to get the job done.
Hi John,
I entered a photo in mini compitition #987 titled "Sentinels of the coast". It was deleted this morning before voting closed without explaination. Could you tell me why?
Thnks,
Byron
Hello,
I am totally new to this world. I am tasked with the charge of producing product demonstration videos for "adult products." NOT porn, but, "it takes this many batteries and would be good for a person looking for blah, blah, blah." I purchased a Canon 7D EOS, lighting equipment, backdrop, etc and now I am getting started in the learning curve. I am grateful to be in touch with a community who can help me as I go along.

Please see my response to you in the relevant thread, here.
Hello Louise. Welcome to the forum.
Can I suggest that you go into the 'Digital Cameras and Equipment section of the forum and 'Start New Thread' and post up your questions. More people will see them there.
But to help people answer your questions, you need to tell them:
- What kit lens do you have?
- Why aren't the lenses you've got the ones to get the job done? What is the job that you want to do?
In the meantime, welcome to CiC. I certainly hope you find it a helpful resource and that you can continue to learn by being involved.
Thanks Donald, I'm happy to also give advice on photo editing.
Hello my name is Nikica
I live in Split (Croatia) and I just started to discover the beauty of photography.
Hello Nikica and welcome to the forum.
I hope you enjoy being part of CiC and that it does help you to develop your knowledge and skill in photography. Please remember that this is a forum that was established to help peoplelearn anddevelop. So, if you have any questions or problems that you want help in understanding, please do just ask.
Do you have have a camera at the moment? If so, what is it? What sort of subjects do you think you will be photographing?
Hi everyone. I'm Mike, rather old and crusty. Retired, formerly an IT professional, I've been taking photos for 60+ years, but still a lot to learn. I have reasonable Photoshop skills and help to run an oldies photo group. I've used and recommended these tutorials for years. Thought I'd look to see if I wish to get further involved.
Mike - I certainly hope you do. As well as being involved in the photo group, I'd hope that you'd make all that knowledge and experience available to others on here to help them with their learning. You've maybe seen already that CiC is very much about helping people to learn.
I hope we'll see many more posts from you and that you'll be posting some of your images.
By the way, where are you? If you wish, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your location so that it shows up alongside all your posts, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Hello Hari and a very warm welcome to CiC. I hope you enjoy being part of the forum and that it does help you develop your photographic skills.
Unfortunately, your picture has not appeared in your post. Can I suggest that you read through the help thread on posting images that you can access via the HELP/Rules tab in the menu bar. You can also use this thread as a test area (as it was intended to be) for learning to post images. If you then still experience problems, please do call out via a question in a new thread.
