Hi everybody,

I'm Hooman from Iran and I live in Tehran. photography is among my favorite hobbies. After shooting a while with compacts and learning some basic concepts - at least in theory ;) - recently I got my first dslr a Nikon D7000. I like mostly nature and wildlife

Searching though the Internet for "eye normal field of view" routed me to this site where I found great discussions and tutorials about it. Joined here to learn more about photography.

Hello Hooman and welcome to this forum. I am glad that you liked the discussions and the tutorials on the site.

As you will have discovered, CiC is aims to be a resource to help people learn, both through studying the tutorials and by exchanging views and opinions with others on this forum.

Given that you have just got your first DSLR, then it will be very much a case of practice, practice, practice until you become very familiar with it and discover what it can do for you. Which lens(es) do you have with it?

I hope you enjoy being part of the forum for a long time to come and that we shall soon see some of your images being posted onto the site. I have already commented about your website in the 'Point us to your website' thread.

My name is Tammee. I'm very green. I'm am the newest photographer out there! lol. My husband bought me a nice camera for Christmas several years ago and I'm just now wanting to understand more about it and how to use it. I enjoy taking pictures, but don't always get the result I'm looking for. So, as I post pictures, C & C is always welcome. However, if I'm doing something right, let me know that too.

I currently live in Orange, Texas. I've lived here now for approximately 10 or 11 years. I have family in the area which helps me feel welcome. I also enjoy the down-to-earth people I find here.

I'm real excited about joining your community and hope all of you will be patient with me as I struggle to learn the new language of photography.

One of the good things I think you will find on CiC, Tammee, is that people have patience with those who are learning. People on here remember that they were once at exactly the same place on the learning curve where you are at the moment. And if we don't ask questions and don't seek explanation, we can never learn. So, ask away. And do post up your images and ask for comment and criticism.

I've got 2 Fujifilm FinePix cameras at home of a similar type - both very good cameras. My kids use them these days but even the old 3.1MP Finepix 602Z still captures some great photos.

Hello..My name is Mavourneen. Pronounced, Mauv-err-neen. I consider myself a semi-pro photographer; I've been taking pictures since 2005; I'm also a single mom...my son will be turning 8 soon. :) I was born in Germany, grew up in Louisiana and have lived in utah off and on since 2004. I've got the Canon 7D & 50D with a variety of lenses. I like all aspects of photography. Been at a portrait studio for 1.5yrs, I love to shoot wildlife & landscapes and now getting into astrophotography and video.

Um Majid and um from kashmir, um an engineering graduate currently working as transmission engineer in Ericsson. Um very fond of photography. It was really great to find this website which is so interactive and is great for beginners to learn new techniques.

I'm Sue and I live in SW London - a beautiful part of London. I lived in S Africa for 35 years, but have been back in the UK for 9 years. Once I retired I took up photography - before then I took the usual point and shoot photos being very careful to put the main subject bang in the middle of the picture! I have a DSLR, have done a few courses, and now shoot in manual mode and RAW. I love Macro work, and, living near Richmond Park, I love to photograph the fauna and flora there. Photography is so rewarding, as well as being challenging.

Welcome. Salisbury huh? I grew up in Lexington NC myself. I haven't lived there in many years. I'm a novice photographer and new on the forum myself.

You are so right. In terms of 'challenging', I well remember when I was further back along the learning curve and the times when what seemed well understood by everyone else made no sense to me whatsoever. There were times when it seemed as if would never make sense. But, we got there. The learning is, in itself, hugely rewarding and once you begin to consistently start to produce work that pleases you and seems to be approved of by others, then you feel wonderful.

So I hope you enjoy being part of CiC and carry on your learning alongside the rest of us.

Hi, my name is Billie. I am just a beginner at photography. I am a floral designer be trade, and love it. I find that in the past few years, I wake up thinking about photography....where ever I go now my camera goes.lol. I have traded in a purse for a camera bag!
