Hello, my name is Adam, Rayhan is my son,s name. I live in Borneo, Indonesia. I am a very new beginner, trying to learn how snap the shutter well. I love to photograph landscape.feels great when somebody look at your picture and say "wow,did you take that with your camera?".

Welcome to CiC Adam. You're in the right place to learn more about photography. There are more than a few people here that focus on landscape photography and will be able to give you some guidance on how to improve your own photos.

As for what happens when people look at my photos these days, I often get the "That's a really good photo! What camera do you have?"

Hi, my name is Billie. I am just a beginner at photography. I am a floral designer be trade, and love it. I find that in the past few years, I wake up thinking about photography....where ever I go now my camera goes.lol. I have traded in a purse for a camera bag! I love to take macro, wildlife and landscape pictures. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can. This is a great site!

You're in the right place to learn more about photograph. There are plenty of people who regularly produce great macro, wildlife, and macro photos and they all enjoying sharing their tips and tricks to getting great photos. I look forward to seeing some of your photos.

Hi everyone,

my name is Max and I live in Italy. I have picked up this hobby again after many years of lapse because I realized the most used feature of my phone was the camera (whatever the phone). When I was younger I practiced with my father, back when there only were films. I still remember the chemicals and the darkroom smell!

I've picked up a RAW-shooting compact camera because nowadays they're great and also because of the need of having it always with me. Perhaps I may graduate to a DSLR but not before I have a real need for it.

Discovered the site googling for tutorials, now I'm hooked both on the site and the forum. My compliments to whomever runs the show!

Thanks you for your comments about the site. It belongs to Sean McHugh (McQ), with some of us helping him out as Admin and Moderators. But the site and particularly the forum, is really made by everyone who is a member on here. It is that creative environment of learning that is maintained by all the members that make the site what it is.

There are quite a number of poeple on here who, like you, came back to photography after many lapsed years.

Since we're at it, I'd like to point out what I liked the most as a lurker:

- The site contains a lot of sound information
- with no nonsense or brand fanservice
- the forum challenges are an interesting way of finding out how other people "did it"
- very laid back attitude that makes you feel welcome.

Hello. I'm a retired guy residing in Missouri, USA. This is my first posting. I'm interested in receiving opinions about the need for large digital processors in digital cameras. I know that the small Point'n Shoot cameras are around the 1/1-1.7 to 2.8 sensors size. Then, there is the 4/3rd sensor, the 1.5+ sensors and the full size 35mm size sensors. The mega pixels a camera has is important, but, just how important? When a person wants to enlarge a digital photo using a photo-shop type software and the end result would be a 9" x 12" or 10" x 14" print, and no large than these, does it matter how big the sensor is? Do you agree that a 8+ megapixel camera is sufficient to produce a good quality enlargement? Looking forward to lots of feedback on this topic.

You seem to have a pretty good grasp of the issue of sensor sizes and what that means in relation to image quality. A lot of members may not see your questions in this thread. You would be better copying this into the 'Digital Cameras and Equipment' section of teh forum as a new thread. That maximises the prospect of those who can answer, seeing them.

I'm afraid that most here don't read "TXT speak" -- so may I politely suggest that you'll get many more replies if you avoid using abbreviations like gr8, plz, wana, 4 etc (as per our Code of Conduct), and post requests like this into the best forum (I'd suggest the Digital Cameras and Equipment Forum).

I'll be posting some dumb (uninformed?, novice?, pre-expert?) questions soon. Just need to do a little more silent "listening" first. Then I'll be jumping into the deep-end all at once. I prefer that to wading in slowly.
