I am glad to join this community. I don't remember how I got here but I like this site. Although I started a while I spend few time making photography but I really like it and want to share it with you.

Hi, I'm Pam. I'm a novice photographer for about 2 years now. I belong to a local Camera Club and have been participating in our competitions for a year. I would like to get comments and criticisms about some of my photos. I have found the website to be very helpful, but need to find time to make better use of it!

I think one of the good things about this forum (others have made the point in the past) is that you will get honest, constructive and, hopefully, helpful comments and criticism on any work you post. It always helps if you can give your own opinion and tell people what questions you have about the image. That directs their attention. What you don't get, which I believe can happen on some other forums, are messages telling you that you're images are not good enough to be posted on here. CiC is about learning and the only way to do that is to is to study and improve.

Greetings friends. I recently took up photography after being away from it for 20 years. I treated myself to a Canon 60D and have enjoyed learning how to use it and learning how much more I need to learn. I just wish I had more time to dedicate to it. I'm really interested in HDR imagery right now and I'm also looking into high-key and low-key photography. My name's Andrew. I'm a married with 2 children professional male who's just bought a Nikon D5100. Hoping to take pictures of the kids, nature, sail boats, fishing action, scenary. Also looking to play with stop motion animation and interested in taking high shutter speed shots of water droplets, pets and sports. Also awaiting delivery of photoshop element 7 and so hope to, over years, develop good working knowledge of picture manipulation. Current working knowledge level - nil. Got a long way to go and so will value this site quite allot.

So please do take part - Read what others are saying in response to questions and queries; do come in and ask the questions that are flying around your head and, when you're ready, post up soem pictures and ask people to give you constructive and helpful comments.

I really enjoy photography, but it is a slow process trying to teach yourself - that's where a community like this is such a benefit. Hopefully you've seen something of the site to have picked up on the fact that it exists to be a learning resource. A place where you can access tutorials that are widely considered to be amongst available on the internet, and where you can tap into a vast pool of knowledge and experience here on the forum.

It is a leap out of the comfort zone to start posting. I remember the first image I ever posted (on another forum before I discovered CiC). It was met with total silence. Not a cheap. That silence spoke volumes. Then I found CiC.

So please don't be nervous about it. People on here will offer honest, constructive comment. Sometimes it can hurt a bit if you're happy with what you've posted. But it is meant in the best possible terms - something that is aimed to help you learn and develop.

Hi! My name is Patricia and I'm new here. I joined your community to improve my photography skills and to learn as much as I can from an artistic point of view as well as from a technical point of view. Even though I've been photographing all my life, I have just purchased my first digital SLR and so have been immersing myself into photography reading, classes, tutorials, and of course photographing when ever I have the chance. I'm looking forward to getting feedback on my photos so I'll learn from my mistakes as well as from the good pictures I take. I'm hoping to make money in the near future with my photography. I possess the passion for photography that I'm sure all of you possess as well. Portraits, close ups, and scenery are my favorites.
