Mikael - I think you are currently the only active member of the forum from Sweden (sorry, if I'm wrong), so a very warm welcome to you.
I hope you will post up some of your pictures either for comment or in the competition threads and that we will see joining in discussions or asking questions.
Hello, my name is Michael. I live in Baton Rouge. I could not afford SLR camera when I was young, but I always read about it and I was fascinated by folks who had an SLR and could use it to produce photos I couldn't.
I have a Nikon D90 with a Nikon 18-200 mm VR lens. I also have a nifty fifty lens, although I have not used it yet.
I am currently taking online photography class and I read everything I can find to help me improve my photography skills.
I would definitely class my self as an amateur photographer.
I enjoy shooting adhoc pictures of people being people and reflections.
Hi, my name is SnapShotSandy, Over the past 50 years, photography, videography, music and digital processing grew from a pass time to a wonderful retirement hobby. When he retired I decided to get serious with my hobby and invested in professional equipment. I currently enjoy being the “team photographer” for the local High School’s, soccer, fast pitch and baseball teams. I also enjoys photographing basketball, track and Little League. My action packed photos have been published in both local newspapers and the High School's year-book. Parents have liked his photos so much that many of them have asked me to teach them how to become better photographers.
Teaching and coaching sales people is ten times more difficult than teaching photography. For the past three years I have offered private, semi-private and group lessons teaching Photography Made Easy classes to hundreds of students throughout the Seattle area and one student from North Vancouver BC. I have hundreds of new students signing up all the time from referrals and my various promotions. I now enjoy teaching more than taking photos, can you believe that?
Hi all there. Long time ago I joined CIC but never participate in discussions nor upload any picture. Now is the time to do so. I should say my mother tongue is Spanish, so forgive me if my English is not quite correct. I hope to enjoy learning from you all .
Just wanted to say a quick hello in the forums. Been following the Tools and Tutorials for a while but this is my first time here. Circumstances allowed me to seriously pursue photography about the turn of the millennium (about 12 years now), although I did my first shooting back in the b&w film days. Have done a number of art shows and some on-line selling. Find that there are always things to learn and new things to try. I am also excited when I am able to help others. In my spare time (anywhere from 10% - 90% of my life) I am a web designer & website creator.
Hello Michael and welcome to CiCX. Thank you for joining.
I hope that being part of this forum can also help you develop your knowledge and skills. There are lots of people on here who will be very willing to try and help with advice and suggestions and answers to specific questions. All you have to do is ask.
Hello Sandy (I assume it's Sandy)
I hope you enjoy being part of CiC and that your extensive knowledge and experience will be shared with others on here to help them learn.
By the way, you don't say where you are. If you wish, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your location so that it shows up alongside all your posts, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Pedro - I am very glad that you have decided that now is the time to introduce yourself and join in the discussions. Your written English is very good, so please do not feel you have to excuse yourself in any way.
I look forward to seeing your pictures and to your participation in the forum.
And that is what CiC is really all about. Welcome, Barry. Great to have you here.
I hope you continue find the style and content of CiC to your liking and that you'll be involved for a long time to come. I hope you've already seen that it's a pretty decent bunch of folks around here - except ..........................(only joking)!
Hi, my name is Lyn and I live in San Antonio, Texas. I have been taking pictures all my life, however only in the last 4 years did I become serious about what I was doing. I spend a lot of time on the east coast (MA, NH, VT and ME) and that is where I do most of my photography - it is so beautiful there. I am a Nikon girl, love landscapes, wildlife and want to learn about portrait shooting since I have had several requests for it. I like the education that is possible on this site and I love the post-processing contest going on...what fun! An example of my work can be seen on Etsy, under Lyn Scott Photography. My goal is to improve and enjoy other people's art.
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!
Hello Lyn - Great to have you here. I hope you enjoy what CiC is all about and that you'll want to stick around for a long time to come.
I hope that as much as you learn, you will also share your obvious knowledge and experience with others do that they can develop their skills.
Thanks for signing up.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I am learning more every day....I've had to teach myself most of it with a few classes and seminars here and there. It has been almost more complicated to learn than nursing was at 40 something!
Thanks for the warm welcome, Donald. I do look forward to my time here, even if you all are a decent sort.
By the way, I do hope your "oh dear..." to Eve was not a response to her saying she's a Nikon girl. I am a Nikonite as well, on my second DSLR. I do confess that I had a Canon (F1) with beautiful lenses - film and weighed a ton(ne). Lost those in a flood a few years back and that's when I made my switch.
Hallo to you all. My name is Gillie and I am a British expat, living in North Central Florida. Although I have taken photographs all my life, it is only in the last few years that I have made an effort to make sense of it all, and have really applied myself to learning both how to take the photograph and then how to process it. So, any help with either will be very welcome. I would really like to improve my landscapes, but they are few and far between in this flat semi tropical state, but wild life is abundant, the beaches are not far away, and I have a beautiful granddaughter who, at the age of six, has learned to be photographed with little complaint. I am looking forward to seeing all your work. Gillie
I use a Nikon D7000 with various lenses; I have CS5, and a some Nik and Topaz filters.

Hello Gillie and welcome to CiC.
I certainly hope you quickly feel that this is a good place to be in terms of meeting your hope for help in relation to both capturing photographs and then processing them to make the final picture. You will find many people on here very willing to share their knowledge and experience in order to try and help.
By the way, if you wish, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your location so that it shows up alongside all your posts, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Heello everybody
I'm Marie and I'm a photography student from Brazil! I'm kinda new to the photography world even though I've always loved it. I actually found this place through one of my photography teachers Well, I guess that's it? I'm really horrible introducing myself. By the way, I use a Nikon D3100 with the kit lens
Hello, How are you all? Have fun.
