Hi Everyone,
I'm relatively new to digital photography. I have a Sony a35--all I can afford at the moment, but saving my pennies for bigger and better things if my skills improve and I continue to enjoy this craft. Love the tutorials and supportive comments on this site.

I live in Texas and right now the wildflowers are blooming. They're great practice for me as I'm heading to Costa Rica for work/vacation in a few weeks! I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can before I leave.

Tessa - The most important thing is not how much equipment you have, how much it cost, or whether it's the newer version that your next-door-neighbour has got. It's about loving photography. Sure, bigger and better gear open up more options for you to make images. But there are people with lots of expensive equipment who produce rubbish.

As Pops Carter, a member who's not around the forum so much these days, often said, "The camera is a box in which you store photographs. The picture is behind your eyeballs."

It's about you much more than it is about the camera you have.

So I hope you enjoy being here as part of CiC and that it helps you develop your knowledge and skill. And, remember, there is no such thing as a dumb question on this forum.

I am from Northam, Western Australia. I am loving everything about digital photography and enjoying all aspects from portraiture (love with a passion) to landscapes. I have joined Cambridge in Colour to get more feedack on my images to help improve my techniques and knowledge. Hi, I'm Eric and I'm from Middle Tennessee. I really enjoy the tutorials here and love the "Ah so that's how it's done moment" after reading them. I've always loved photography but have recently got back into it. I prefer nature and landscapes and really don't care much for photographing people. :)

I have been interested in photography since the days of the Crown Graphic, I have made a few good pictures but am delighted to find a place where I can learn something of these wonderful new cameras. I have a Canon G9 which still can do more things than I know how to do.

Eons ago, I was on the Yearbook staff in high school. iI really enjoyed working in the dark room.
Several years ago I got involved in photography again, but with a limited budget I started out with a compact camera.
About a year ago my son gave me a Canon EOS 60-d with an 18-135 mm lens.
Now I am seriously crazy about photography and trying to learn all I can.

Hi - I'm Manfred and live in Ottawa, Canada. I made my transition from a film SLR to a DSLR about three years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed going from the wet darkroom to the digital one. I'm shooting a Nikon D90 right now, but my upgrade should arrive one of these days...

I classify myself as an "enthusiastic amateur". I do a lot of travelling around the world to places and my camera gear is always along recording things in familiar places as well as getting quite far off the beaten track. I look at myself as a utility photographer; I don't specialize in any one area and photograph anything and anywhere. I am just as comfortable in the studio as I am in the back woods.

I was very impressed by the quality of the material on this site, so decided to join in order to continue my learning process.

I am quite new to photography and know I will learn lots from this site. I photographing love water, landscapes, sunsets but make myself focus on other shots to vary my experience. I enjoy a challenge and I am looking forward to entering competitions, putting myself out there, seeing what bounces back and improving my camera skills.

So, those of you who are maybe starting out - please do ask your questions. And those of you with experience, I hope you will share that on here so that others can learn from you.

Hi everyone, I'm Jenne from Australia living in Tasmania, the little forgotten bit tacked onto the bottom of Aust. I've been interested in photography since I was a kid with my box brownie and seem to have always dabbled in taking images over the years, my current passion is adding effects to enhance my images if possible in different ways, and digital painting. I joined a while ago but actually didn't realise you had an active forum.

I love looking at other people's images and learning new things, so am happy to belong here and learn.

One of the nice things that I hope you'll find out about CiC is that nobody gets too exercised if you get it wrong. Lots of people starting out struggle with posting images, knowing how to start a new thread, which section of the forum to post their question/image. Lots people will jump in to help as required. The secret is to just enjoy it.

Hello, my name is Brian and I live in the U.S. in California. I've been into photography for some time now. My favorite type is landscapes and waterscapes. I've recently started trying some macro and actions shots. I always love to learn more. This site was recommended by someone at another website for the wonderful tutorials. I currently have a Canon XTi and a Canon 7D. I have a 10-22mm, 24-105L, and 100-400L lens. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community as its already been so helpful for me.
