Hi,

Thank you for signing up Diane and I hope CiC can contribute to helping you along the learning curve. And if you have any questions, intelligent or otherwise, then please do ask them.
You don't say where you are. If you wish, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your location so that it shows up alongside all your posts, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Hello!
I'm a high school student and i came across this website when i was looking for info on cameras. I'm fascinated by the art of photography so i wanted to do a project on the physics involved in it like the lighting, exposure, lenses etc. I hope you can help me out!
Hi Tasha,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me, great to have you join us.
I guess you already found the extensive range of tutorials the site offers.
Beyond those, please don't be shy to ask questions here in the forums and hopefully we'll see some pictures from you too.
I'm sure you get plenty of help with the project,
Natasha - Hello and welcome to CiC. Thank you for deciding to join this forum.
I am not the person to help you out in your studies (I could never understand physics when I was in school and still don't), but there are lots of people who are extremely knowledgeable on the subject, particularly as it relates to photography and who will, I am sure, be more than willing to engage in discussion with you.
I hope, as they do so, that your interest in photography is further enhanced and that you will be part of this forum for a long time to come.

Hi,
I was impressed by the website and its tutorials. So I joined the forum.
Consider myself an enthusiastic beginner and quite to do landscape and macro photography to start.
BTW my name is Haris.Im from Malaysia.
My equipment consists of Canon 60D, 55-250 mm,50mm and 100mm lenses.
Excited to learn from other members of the forum.
Haris
I am delighted to hear that, Haris. It's great to read that people coming across CiC think it will be of help with their learning and development.
As part of the forum, you now have the opportunity to join discussions, ask questions and, of course, post up your images for comment and criticism.
You've maybe seen that most of us tend to use our real names on here. It makes communication more friendly and CiC is that sort of site. Did you know you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
hi Everyone
My name is Jim a 65 year old from Wirral England Retired and new to Digital Camera Photography
My main obsession is Bonsai Trees in which I am also a new comer,as I have only been doing this for Four Years
I am hoping to gain sound advice and knowledge to help improve my camera skills
I have a Fuji finepix EXR S200 my first decent digital camera only had a the camera a year or so and I am struggling to take great images of the Bonsai Trees
My knowledge is limited to using auto but want to learn more on how to use ALL MODE SETTINGS so please if anyone has the same model or similar I would appreciate any help
thank you
Jim thelad
Jim - What an amazing opportunity to combine your two interests. As far as I'm aware, there is no-one taking images of Bonsai trees on here. It would be a fantastic area in which to specialise.
I hope that as well as reading the tutorials, you will use the forum to ask people questions and soak up what is said by others. Certainly, getting off auto and starting to take control of your camera's settings is the first step in starting to 'up your game' so far as photography is concerned. The secret is about not being frightened to make mistakes. You'll make lots of them. But that's what learning is about.
There are lots of people on here who will be willing to help. All you have to do is ask the questions.
By the way, so that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Hi,
My Name is Elaine. I live in Northern Canada I have been a stay at home Mom. I have raised a large family and still have 3 children at home. I just now discovered photography . I have some time to play and have enjoyed the artistic release that photography gives. I would appreciate all constructive criticism. Really, I'm a sub beginner. It would be nice to meet all of you.
Elaine - I hope CiC is the place that can help you take-off so far as photography is concerned. As I hope you've already seen, there are lots of people on here who will be very willing to help with advice, guidance and suggestions and who will take time to answer any questions you have.
Most of all, it's a place where there are no 'wrong' or dumb questions and where folk, no matter what their level of experience, can feel, we hope, that all that matters is enjoying photography and making the best possible pictures that we can.
So, welcome on board. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank You for your kind welcome. Have a great day.

Hello Juan, and welcome to CiC.
I hope you will make your experience available to others on here so that they might learn from you. CiC is very much about those of us that are able, offering to share our knowledge and experience to help others develop their skills. At the same time, I hope you feel that you, too, are able to further develop as a result of being involved in the forum.
You've maybe seen that most of us tend to use our real names on here. It makes communication more friendly and CiC is that sort of site. Hey im new too[/I][/B]! I JUST STARTED and Don't know how to upload a profile picture. Please help.I am a beginner photographer and would like to know this site better!
Elayna - First thing you need to note is that a Profile Pic and an Avatar are two different things. So, if you put in a profile pic and wonder why it's not appearing alongside your posts, that's why.
Both are edited by going to 'Forum Actions' on the menu bar above. Choose 'Edit Profile'.
Then scroll down the sode bar at the left and you'll come to 'My Settings'. In that list you'll find 'Edit Profile Picture' and 'Edit Avatar'.
You need to have an image of 80 pixels on the longest side, to load up for one or the other.
Hi everyone, my name is Alex, I am a believer that people should do what I they are passionate about and photography is one of mine. I am here willing to learn as much as I can from all of you. I am a beginner photographer, I hope I could give as much as I would receive in this exiting community.
Thank you, it was a lovely welcome...
