You are correct in what you say. All of us would like to own expensive equipment, but what is most important is having the passion and enthusiasm for photography and the desire to learn the skills that will, in turn, allow creative talent to be expressed. Maybe we can do more things with expensive equipment, but we can still make high-quality images with equipment that is less expensive.

So, it is good to have you here and I hope we will see your posting onto the forum.

If you wish you can edit your profile and change 'Real Name' to include your full first name. The people will know how to address you properly.

Hi folks another new one to the fold. I have had a Yashika for years and have been very happy with it, I just enjoy taking reasonable photos. I bought a compact digital about 3 years ago for taking small close up type shots and have kept thinking maybe I should an SLR digital and finally the Yashika has not long left to live in this world poor thing. so I'm going to go for a second hand Canon 450D from mpb photography, with an 18-200 lens, unless of course somebody jumps up and down in objection to any of the above. right off to look through the site. cheers

Hello, my name is Justin (should be obvious) and I am quite excited about learning a lot more about photography. I first read over this site http://www.alexandrebuisse.org/resources/photo-class and found it to be very helpful. I then came across this site when googling about diffraction. Now I routinely check here for any thing else I come across regarding photography. I only have a Canon PowerShot A620, but I'm having fun with it. Maybe one day I'll get serious about this and get better equipment.

Hi folks another new member, I've had a Yashika slr for years, with some not bad results, and it's about time I upgraded, I do have a digital compact which is usefull but limited. I think I'll go for a Canon 450D with a 18-200 lens which seems about the right size for general photography. I'm going to buy these from MPB photographic. so there you have it. anybody got any objections to this idea I would be glad to hear them, or alternatives of course. I've had a quick browse around the forum there are some good photographers out there, something to aspire to. Oh the photo is from this years Easter egg run from Durham to Darlington and back delivering easter eggs to the hospitals, organised by Durham Motorcycle police, around 900 bikes this year good turn out. Hello everyone, Jim here from Ohio. I caught a few tutorials and then found the pictures posted by members and knew that I could learn a lot here, so I plan to be around for a while. My first camera was a Nikon FE and I have owned a host of others since. I have been taking pictures for many years, but I am anxious to learn from fresh minds and new point of views.
