My name is "EQ" Sylvester and I take photographs under my monika North*Star Photography.I have been taking pictures starting with film for many years but as an hobby. I am now a serious amateur immersed in the digital age. I use Aperture, Lightroom 4, and will soon be upgrading to CS6. The photo editing is used for photos taken with my Canon 7D and a series of fine lenses. There is no question that the equipment is far superior to the photographer!

Hello Folks,

My name is Les and I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia.

I joined this site in order to learn as much as can about cameras and photography in general.

Within the next two weeks I will aquire a lightly used Canon EOS 40D, up until now I have only used Film and Pocket Digital cameras, so doubt I will have a challenges coming to terms with using a enthusiast type camera.

I am retired and loving it, so I have plenty of time follow my new chosen hobby, my other hobby is computing so I feel the two will blend well together.

In the meantime I intend to browse the many topics to found in this web site.

Hello All, I am Sagar Simkhada, enthusiastic beginner originally from Nepal but have been living in Aberdeen, Scotland for almost five years and work in GIS (Geographical Information System) industry. I recently joined CiC and find it very helpful with lots of interesting and useful tips, techniques, tutorials which is good platform for people like me to learn photographic skills.
I have canon 7D with its kit lens 18-135mm, 17-40 F/ L USM, Sigma 10-20mm and Tamron 90 mm for Macro.

I will be posting my pics in CiC soon and will be looking forward for constructive suggestions, comments etc.. Cheers guys

Hello, I am Mayur and i am a dentist by profession and it IS because of the dentistry that i got my Canon 600 D (T3i) a year back on the 28th April 2011 and since then there was no looking back in Photography. i never took Professional courses and i learned photography through reading and self practice and i should say i have thoroughly enjoyed the journey so far. Apart from Dentistry i do dental photography . I love Macro and Wildlife. Apart from them i like Landscapes Portraiture Fashion Sports Events and so on. i have an 18-55, 55-250 and a 500 mm prime lens.I also Conduct regular Photography courses for amateurs in my city

I am James and I am from New Hampshire, USA. For the past few years I have been more of a hobbyist in the field of photography and I enjoy the art of it. Lately I have been taking the steps to learn more about my camera and processing photos. In my quest for knowledge I have stumbled upon this forum and have found much of the information very useful. And, remember, everyone on here is or has been, on teh exact same learning curve as you. So you're amongst people who do understand.

Good on you, Ron. I have no doubt you will get lots and lots of pleasure from it. Maybe a bit of frustration too as you get to grips withit and learn just what it can, or can't, do. And, hopefully, that where CiC can come in - as a resource to help you learn and develop your knowledge and skills.

The quality of the pics on this site are unbelievably beautiful, I almost feel I'm out of my depth. I've been taking photographs for approximately a year now and feel I'm getting no where as far as new material and techniques are concerned .
