Hi My name is Shannon, I live in Alberta, Canada. I was in college when the photo bug bite me so to speak. I love to shoot and I have thousands of images. I am passionate about photography and love to read or learn something new when I get the chance. I have done event and portrait shoots but I have found I prefer to work in stills. I started my love with photography with a manuel and worked up to digital bodies. I still shoot in manuel when I have the time which is tucked into family life and life in general.

CiC is all about helping people learn. So, please do post up your questions and, when you feel ready to do so, your images for Comment & Criticism. When you do feel ready for that, please read this thread that Frank posted recently. It will help you get more useful feedback - How to Get Effective Feedback for your Posted Images.

Hello - I'm taking a wild guess here (!), but think that your username is not your real name. So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Hi my name is Debra. I live in Pontotoc, Mississippi. I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. I have 4 children of my on and I am engage to a wonderful man who also has 4 children. I started taking pictures about 5 years ago and discovered how much I loved taking pictures. Two years ago my future husband bought me a Canon Rebel and everyone says I am really good at taking pictures but I think I have alot more to learn. I found this web page today and started reading and in a day I have already learned alot. Thank you so much for your help and the help I am hope to find thought this web site.

As you've already seen, this site is all about helping people to learn and to develop their knowledge and skills. There is no such thing as a dumb question on here and lots of people are only too willing to share their experience in order to help and support others.

So I hope you enjoy being part of the forum and I you'll post up some of your images.

Yes I will have time. Our children are about grown and they are alot of the subjects of my photos not all but alot. I practise on them and the grandchildren. And as soon as I figure out how to post my pictures you will get to meet my family though my pictures.

My name is King and i'm from Manila, Philippines. I've been an enthusiast since i was young when i grew up watching my dad shooting away with his camera and all kinds of lenses. I picked up my first camera around 10 years ago and it was a Canon powershot digital camera. I fiddled around with it and tried to learn on my own how not just to depend on Auto Mode until i finally decided to get a DSLR 3 years ago and i've been having the time of my life since then. I admit, i'm still learning and i want to learn more because for me, it's not just a hobby but hopefully i can use this skills professionally.
I'm excited to learn more from the forums and eventually make new friends.

Hello my name is Bob, I'm from Germany. I'm into photografy for some years now but only recently it grew into a more serious addiction. I prefer to shoot landscapes and nature in color and b&w. Recently I'm trying to accomplish this more and more using only a single prime lens of 24mm on my NEX-7.

My name is Val and i'm from the Philippines. I love photography and i own several point and shoot cameras that i use to shoot family's, friends' and office events, which is to say my main audiences so far.

I also like to take pictures of scenic places i visit, mostly for my personal enjoyment.

I have recently acquired a micro 4/3s camera that i'm so excited to try. I have been experimenting with it for a week now and still discovering the things i can do.

I would like to share some of the pictures i have taken from it and i am very happy to have joined CiC and compare them with the works of the more seasoned/professional photographers and hope to learn from them and improve my shots.

I'm sure you are finding the 4/3s a big step up from the P & S cameras. Although pictures are made by the person behind the camera rather than the equipment itself, I am sure that you will find the new camera does make many more options possible for you.

Please do ask any photographic questions you have. There are lots of people on here who are very willing to help people learn and to develop their skills.

Hi my name is Spring, I'm from Canada and absolutely LOVE photography for as long as I can remember I'm always the one with the camera at any type of party, or outing or event. So I recently got a Canon Rebel T3 and a couple lenses, as well as some photo editing software (Lightroom 4 and PSE 10) and I'm going to see where I can go with this.
I've had a tough time finding time as I currently just went back to work after my year of mat leave, we're selling our current house, building a new one, oh and I'm planning our wedding for this August! lol So needless to say I'm a little busy but I'm trying to find time to get some photo's done. Right now I have mainly just done pictures of my baby and my other daughter but on the weekends when we go out to the cabin I plan on making good use of the scenery out there!
I have to say in looking through some of the CiC member websites I feel like I am WAY too new at this, some of the pictures I've seen from "newbies" are incredible and look very professional to me!! I hope I'm not the only complete and utter newbie that is still literally learning step by step!
I don't have a website, I've only just started using FlickR and don't have anything organized yet - I feel like I'm WAY behind anyone on here, so hopefully I can catch up at some point

Hello, all. I am Christina and I live in Upstate, NY. I have loved photography since I can remember. I own a Nikon D90 that I just adore. I came across this site in a Google search, and I have to say - I am very pleased to have come across it. Very informative and great to pass along to my beginning photography friends!

A few of my favorite things to capture are children, weddings and FOOD! I just love food photography, though I do that as a hobby :) My camera is by my side nearly 24/7. Having kids, it's nice to know I can capture that "moment" when it happens, instead of regretting it later!
