Hello Spring and the answer is - 'No you're not'.
The one good thing that I hope you find about this forum is that people are allowed to learn and develop at their own pace and no-one is going to have-a-go because you don't know enough.
What you will find are lots of people who will be very willing to share their experience and give advice.
I hope you enjoy being involved.

A few of my favorite things to capture are children, weddings and FOOD! I just love food photography, though I do that as a hobby :) My camera is by my side nearly 24/7. Having kids, it's nice to know I can capture that "moment" when it happens, instead of regretting it later!
Welcome Christina. I'm very glad you found us out here in our little part of cyberspace! great to have you on board.
I hope you find the way the way the site works. It's all pretty informal and a place where the primary focus is on helping people learn and develop their knowledge and skills. So, as well as gaining something that benefits you, I hope you will allow your experience to be shared with others to help them learn.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Greetings from the Midwest! I'm Sarah and I hail from Iowa in the US. I've always loved photos and memory keeping but my interest in photography has dramatically increased over the past year or so. Just recently the photography bug also bit my husband and we are very excited to have a common hobby. We currently have a Canon Rebel XT but decided to make the switch to Nikon. We ordered a D7000 which is being delivered tomorrow. We'll hang on to the Canon for a bit so that we each have a camera and eventually, we'll order another Nikon. So we are spending all of our spare time learning, reading, shooting, and editing. He is more into landscape/nature while my main interest is people. Someday down the road we hope to turn our hobby into a small side business. Glad to have found this website and forum!
Edit: moving this post to the main board

G'day, I'm Bill from Melbourne Australia. I first visited this site when I switched from film to digital in August 2006. I was blown away by the pictures of Cambridge Uni. I found the tutorials, then, really informative in helping me understand the world of digital SLRs. I look forward to learning more from this site and its forums. I love HDR, low light and just playing in general.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here

Bill - Sean's photos of Cambridge still provide the backdrop and the context for what CiC is nowadays. Very glad you've come back and signed-in. I hope that, as well as you learning from others, that you will share your knowledge and experience so that those nearer the start of the learning curve can benefit.
To those of you who haven't put your names or lcoations in your profile, can I say, so that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hello everyone. My name is Juan Carlos, (but I prefere to use my initials, Jc, as this is quite more simple and fast to type), I am from Guatemala and currently living in Belgium. I am 34 years old and I really enjoy taking pictures.
I started using a camera back in 2003: I had to make monthly reports of the work we were doing and we had a small "point-and-shoot" that I used to take with me all the time: this opportunity allowed to have my first contact with photography. In 2010, I decided to go further, to buy a DSLR and really start learning how to create images.
I have been following the Cambridge in Colour guidelines and it has been very helpful, I have learned a lot and as far as I can see, there are lots of things still to learn, so this is basically why I decide to join your forum: hoping to share my experience and photographs and learning from what others can say about my work.
Thank you very much for this opportunity.
:)

Hello everyone. I'm new at this posting stuff as well as new in photography. I'm looking at purchasing a Cannon D60. Do any of you have any advice or suggestions. I would like to take a photography class but live in a rural area and none is available, so I'm hoping to learn through all of you as well as reading and practicing. I love outdoor photography. Thanks in advance for all your advice.
