It has been nearly two year since I have joined this forum and it is till now that I find some time to introduce myself.

I am an MD actually a Physician and Surgeon in my country and started to take pictures more than 12 years ago when I got my first cellphone with camera. That was when I discovered that I just wanted to take pics of almost everything! I did post a lot of pictures from my cellphones to a few places and what is most hilarious is that someone stole one of those (really lo-res) pics to use it in a web page as their "pictures taken at that place on vacations" and where offering them for sale for prints. When I asked them how did they get that picture they simply removed it! I came to this forum the first time because I loved the tutorials for better photography and the DOF explanation. But did not join a lot of time later.
What else can I say..? Uhm I love meeting people from around the globe and love to share my (not so huge) knowledge.

Hello. I stumbled on this website looking into various photography sources on the web. My name is Ted from Stamford CT. I am an avid photo enthusiast for many years starting with film, then with digital cameras. But it was only last year that I took photography quite seriously with a new DSLR. I am still in 'learning' mode but a serious student at that. I took all the photos I am posting here. I like landscapes and nature. Eventually, I look to branch out into people. Someday, in photo journalism. I am open to exchange ideas and techniques. Constructive criticism is welcome.

Hi All,
Roy a Kiwi living in Australia. Was a Pentax Film camera user. Mainly slides 64-400 ISO. Have been using Olympus Super-zooms. 3 weeks ago I bought a Nikon D5100 w/ 18-55, 55-300 and 35mm f1.8 all DX. Have just been playing with it to get a feel for Digital. This site looks great for the reborn Photographer.

There are quite a few of us fall into that category, Roy. So welcome to the club.

Glad you found us and I hope you enjoy being part of CiC for a long time to come. I hope you'll find that it's very much a resource where people do share knowledge and experience, particularly to help those who may be a bit further back on the learning curve. But it's also somewhere for exploration, interesting exchanges and, hopefully, a bit of fun.

Hi All
I am from the UK in a little town called Birkenhead, near Liverpool on the Wirral peninsula. I work in different places around the world and I am currently in Qatar. My preference in photography is for captruing places etc at night, I dont why I just think things look better at night, particularly in cities. I have owned a Canon 400D since it was released way back when and have just re-discovered my passion for photography. I have joined the CinC community as I found the explanations of all things photographic to be understandable and easy to digest, as I am not a very technical person, this really helped. One other reason is that the images by other users here are stunning and it is my wish to one day produce such images.

Hi, have just joined though I have been reading articles on the site for a while. Just in the process of re-loacting from the South Coast of England to the Isle of Skye to start the next chapter in my life. Moving my photography from being a hobby to part of my business whilst still remaining involved with high performance coaching. Geraint

Hi. Just joined after lurking for a while. Photography is taking more and more of my time away from watercolor painting. I enjoy macro techniques and have been experimenting with reversed lenses but I also am getting into slow shutter speeds with ND filters for abstract subjects. We travel a lot so I always have my camera with me. I don't have a website for photography yet, although I did put together a quick album.

Geraint - In last month's issue of Black & White Photography there was one of those, 'The 20 most stunning locations in the World for Landscape photography'. Skye was one of them. So, you're heading for the right place. Also for the reason that my paternal family came from their. So, it's got two things going for it.
