Hi Dave. The camera came with the 18-55mm. I also purchased a 55-250mm telephoto lens for it. I am currently looking for a fisheye lens but someone told me that the 40mm pancake lens is better because it keeps your images sharp. Im unsure as to what I want just yet so I will just keep playing with the ones I have and get familiar with everything in the meantime.

Hi everybody. im bryan from dublin. i recently invested in a canon 5d MkII, (having saved up for months), and am not trying to put it to good use. i am an amateur, but i do actually teach a photography module as part of lecturing in graphic design. I enjoy street photography a lot, but also do a lot of architectural/interior design photography (i am an architect) and have recently assisted in a couple of wedding shoots, a fashion show and a theatre production... i joined today because i need some help on the latter...but i believe i must post somewhere for that!!

Hello everyone, from Dave's post #1490 above down to to JayKrish's message immediately above.

I'm just back from a wonderful holiday/vacation in the Southern Rhone wine area of France ... and it was glorious. Have got the 146 files down to 24, + the 38 I still have to edit down to to 2 for the shot of the full moon rising over the Dentelles de Montmirail on July 3rd (that's going to have to be a blend).

So let me extend a collective 'Hello' to all you folks who have just joined CiC. I hope you enjoy it.

have been using digital since the early days, around 2000. have always used film in the past. i am now using the Nikon D7000 with a selection of lenses. I'm looking forward to receiving some feed back on my photos. i love wild life photography but am starting to get into weddings and events.

I purchased a Nikon D5000 before I left and am just now starting to try and figure everything out. There are so much beautiful and unique photo opportunities here that I am anxious to share with all. I will be on this web-site quite a bit, I am sure.

My husband is a hunter and fisherman and he likes the camera also. We just got a new camera and are looking for help to learn all can. I think I will enjoy this forum.

Hi, my name is Brad. Photography has been an interest (and sometimes a passion) of mine since the 1970s. I got back into it about 12 years ago with the advent of digital. My early focus was on nature photography, especially landscapes and wildflowers, although I've done a little street photography in recent years. I've spent a lot of time at museums looking at and learning from photos by great photographers such as Paul Strand, Edward Weston, Elliot Porter, Ansel Adams, and others, and I really look forward to learning more from all the great tutorials here on the CIC site. It's a great service, and I'd like to express my thanks for all the hard work and creativity that have gone into it. The site has come a long way since I first visited it years ago!

Hi my name is Robert, I have been taking photos for almost 30 years, (this time span does not reflect in my photography) used to use and develop 35mm film mainly black and white, but have now turned to digital, and find it very convenient. I take loads of snaps, both on land and underwater, but would now love to develop my skills on the PC to get the most out of what I take. I have used a range of software, and find them all baffling, but I will persist.
I live north of Cambridge, so thought this is the site for me.
