Welcome on board. I joined a few weeks ago, it's a nice place to be.
Hi! just a quick introduction of myself. I was raised in England but spent most of my working life in New Zealand. My wife and I are retired health care workers and decided to return to our roots to complete our retirement. We are both keen amateur photographers and are excited about the photographic opportunities offered in this part of the country, close to the Derbyshire Peak district. I recently upgraded my camera from a Nikon D60 to a D7000 an enormous jump in photographic capability. Look forward to sharing pictures and information with members.
Hi! I'm just happy and humbled to be able to join this group. I'm from Sabah, Malaysia. I've been taking photos since 2008, and still learning as much to improve my skills. Currently i'm using a Conon EOS 40D coupled with a standard lens EF-S 18-135 f/3.5 IS. This DSLR had been with me for 3 years now, and it had serve me well. I love taking portrait and landscape but willing to go beyond my interest to try new techniques and styles. Looking forward to learn from all of you.
hi all!
My name is Frank. I come from Italy. I am a beginner with photography but reading the tutorials, i began to get more familiar with the reflex. I like to photograph landscapes, portraits, and macro photography.
I hope to find in this community tips for photos so that evolve in this field of art.
Greetings to all and see you soon!

Frank

Hi,,
this is neal and m posting an image of my cat
This CambridgeColor is the most international photography site ever seen.
Fantastic. I like that.
Thank you to everyone (from Marnold, 5 posts above this one) who has joined CiC in the last 12 hours or so. Welcome to the forum.
First thing I'd like to suggest (but not the Claude as he's done it) is, so that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
I hope you all enjoy being part of the forum and that it does contribute to your photographic learning and development.
Hello Everyone
I am Divya from Oxford City, Mississippi . I am a beginner in photography. I have been learning for a month now but still have some doubts regarding lighting and composition . I am mostly interested in Travel and Nature photography. I have a Nikon D 3100 camera and 18-55mm lense
Divya - Hello and welcome. I certainly hope that being part of CiC will help you get rid of those doubts and will help you increase your knowledge and develop your photographic skills. There are lots of people on here who will be very willing to help with advice, guidance and assistance. All you have to do is ask.
Great to have you here.

Hi everyone, just bought myself a bridge camera.... twice actually. The first time I wasn't happy with the pics compared to my point and shoot and took it back but after reading a few tips on this webpage I decided to buy it again and go into manual mode where I pick the AP/Shutter and ISO values. I am super impressed with what I can do with this camera and look forward to sharing with you all. I also live in beautiful Canmore, Alberta, Canada so you'll see mostly wildlife and mtn shots from me
Edin - It's great to read that CiC has been useful in helping you to move onwards in terms of your learning and development and growth of knowledge and skills. That's why the site exists.
So, I hope you'll be part of the forum for a long time to come and that it keeps on helping you be a better photographer.

Hi all, having used the tutorials for about a year, I thought I'd give the forums a try. Website is very inspirational and I have already gleaned some very helpful advice on both landscapes and nature, which is my preferred topic. I particularly enjoy photo's with either good textures and/or contrast. Having only started digital photography & photoshop in the past 12 mths I have a long way to go but am loving my Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm kit lens and my Tamron 20-300mm lens.
Hello and welcome to CiC. Thank you for joining and I hope you enjoy being part of the forum.
I would suggest that you repost your question in the Digital Cameras & Equipment section of the forum, as more people than might see it in here will see it there, thus increasing the chances of you getting replies that will be helpful.
What I'd say in this as well as hoping that you find the forum useful and so that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Kenny - Great to have another Scot on board. I think you're the first person to use a gaelic username on CiC.
I hope you enjoy being part of the forum. I think you'll find that there are lots of people on here very willing to share their considerable knowledge and experience in order to help others learn and develop. This is not the sort of forum on which people are precious about what they know, nor assume that everyone should already know all the answers.
So, please do jump right in.
Hi,
Actually, I've been a member since March, 2011 but am just now getting around to introducing myself after exploring and monitoring the site for a while. My profile pic is of me attempting to photograph some very sociable rainbow lorikeets who were almost daily visitors to our apartment we were staying at while visiting Sydney, Australia in 2010. The lorikeets were very willing subjects, indeed...too willing on occasion, as is evident in this photo which my wife took with her trusty Coolpix. I am holding a Nikon D300s in the photo but have recently moved on to the D800. My lenses include the wide-angle 14-24mm 2.8 zoom, the 24-70mm 2.8 zoom, both by Nikon and a Sigma 70-200 telephoto zoom. I think the D800 will be my last camera, given the length of time it may take to learn and master all of its capabilities. I am strictly an amateur and my interests lean towards travel and nature photography. I try very hard to faithfully capture the scene that attracted my attention in the first place but I'm not above tweaking exposure, etc. after the fact. The "straightening" features are very useful, especially when taking photos while aboard a boat which is rocking & rolling. Sloping horizons are particularly unattractive. Looking forward to my association with this group!
Hello all. My name is Joe and I live in Ann Arbor, MI in the USA. I'm a biochemist by training and I've been seriously studying photography with a group of like minded individuals for 3 years now. As a scientist, I'm really intrigued by some of the technical aspects of the art. I love black and white images. As part of the assignment I've chosen for my class this year is to create a B&W portfolio of portraits and of images non-traditionally shot in B&W. I hope to learn from you all!
